Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

"Watertown" seems like a misnomer. More like Icetown, amirite?

I first read that as "attitude", and I thought, what are they, snobs?

If we had some eggs, we could have ham and eggs, if we had some ham.

There is a guy that drives a 959 around Dallas pretty regularly. Pricey collectible to have on the street.

No, it’s only at 500ish feet of elevation. Watertown sits in this little bowl in the black river valley that makes it and the surrounding areas exceptionally cold sometimes. A town 30 miles south will have a low temp about 15 degrees higher this weekend. It makes no sense. I always hated it as a kid.

There was one March where it was 25 one day as a low, -30 the next, 35 As a high the next day and then a high of 70 the day following that. 100 degree swing in 2 days…

What's the point of having it if you're not driving it?

Oddly no water there.

My parents are just across the river. Will they survive to see me again?

There’s a river that runs right through town. The easy availability of water power for early industry gave the name.

I’m sure Kingston will be much warmer.

they do a “Snowtown USA” winter festival every year. At least they used to, so I guess that’s close enough
