Front rack question

I scored a vintage Jim blackbun front rack, the kind that wraps around the fork, and I’m wondering how many washers should I use.

bolt, washer, rack, washer, fork, washer, nut?

Stainless washer between rack and frame, stainless locking washer between stainless bolt and rack.

Use a saddle washer instead of flat washers. It makes for a flatter, better mount.

they are. I was stoked to find one at a coop I hadn’t been to before. I also grabbed a set of suntour power thumbies too. All for a whopping $30!

That's a steal. You may find that rack won't fit on some bikes and it is a pain to install but once installed it's very secure. I've carried loaded panniers on one.

I have one on my Miyata, at the crown I just have a bolt, washer and nylox nut, at the tips I have a spacer for clearance and bolts. It works good, it has not come loose. I built this up a couple f years ago.
