Help choosing pedals for 1986 Schwinn Paramount
I'm slowly fixing up my 1986 Schwinn Paramount and trying to decide what pedals would be a good fit both for comfort, quality and looks. I'm not planning to use toe clips or clipless shoes and don't want to spend much more than ~$100. I was planning on polished chrome but I suppose black might work as well.
I'm considering:
MKS Sylvan Next Touring Pedals in Polished Chrome ~$75
Simco Tiny Bubbly in Polished Chrome ~$100.
Would love to get any other suggestions. Thank you!

As soon as I saw the post I was thinking Sylvan Touring so I am glad that was one of your choices.
The thing about seats, pedals and bar tape is that these items are important for how they feel. I have Sylvans on my LeTour Luxe and I like them. They feel good with regular sneakers that have worn soles. So that is good.

I use those MKS Sylvans on a Rawland Stag, not only do they look very nice the bearings are ultra smooth. Never had an issue and have been using various Sylvan touring pedals on other bikes over the years.

There is something called "the Gordito" that has an extra wide platform.
I've always had pretty good luck with the plain vanilla "Sylvan Touring", but I do have some other MKS pedals on various bikes.
The Sylvan Stream is a good pedal, but narrower than the standard touring. So your foot size has something to do with this. The Urban Platform is a very nice pedal, but might look a little retro on your bike.

Well both pedals are MKS so can't go wrong but the Tiny bubbles look like an MTB pedal from here to me and are a bit pricey so.....

MKS are one of the best values in all of cycling for a long time now, look the business and tough as nails.
I have them on most of my bikes despite having a dozen sets of Campy NR in stock, many overhauled and ready to go.
Most are black with wear that I can't abide the look of so they sit.
The Campy's are used sparingly and get touched op with Sharpie when needed but the MKS's take the daily beating and I don't have to cringe when I bang one on the ground.
Need to strip the black off a couple of the Campy sets so I can get some use out of them.

Wow lots of resounding support for MKS and the Sylvan Next. I just ordered a pair and am excited to try them out. Thank you everyone for your thoughtful suggestions and opinions.
