Raleigh Twenty canoe bike

Here is my Twenty I bought to use on solo canoe outings. I load it up, go down river till I'm tired then peddle back to my car, leaving the canoe locked to a tree. It works great. The bike stows completely below the gunwales. The Raleigh is mostly stock with some curb find alloy rims that just fit on the original spokes. The bar and stem are mods to give me a bit more height than the stock setup. Brooks saddle and super long post was added as well. I have had a number of folders including a Moulton and this is a really nice bike-pure fun. The only issue is with the short stays my heel like to hit the indicator chain so I may space out the pedals with some washer in the future.

Huh.

It's not a use of a folding bike I've thought of before....

That's brilliant!

Love it. Now I'm motivated to buy a folder for my rowing skiff, though I'm not sure I would want to ride on the roads that connect my regular launch points.

Thanks for posting this.

This summer two cyclists rode their bikes to the river put in, inflated two small kayaks, strapped on their folding bikes and paddled down the rapids.

This is a great 'Surf & Tuff' story.
Folding bikes are often kept on cruising sailboats so people have 'ground transportation' in various ports,
your canoe is another 'level' ...hats off to ya!

I won't comment on our British cousins going from Sumburgh Head to Muckle Flugga, but hats off to them too.
