Color color advice for vintage Fuji
Thinking of mixing things up tire-wise on my 1970s Fuji Gran Tourer now that my Paselas are wearing thin.
Which of these color tires do you guys think would work best with the bike: white, orange, or red? Thanks!

I vote for whichever of those will give you the same ride quality as Paselas.
Sans that, Paselas.

Later, we imported the first supple, wide 650B tires from Japan. Made to resemble classic French rubber, the first model was available only in red and white. We loved the supple casings, but we found that in the wet, the white version was noticeably lacking in traction. Riding the red model, we also felt the grip bleed away earlier than we expected. We requested a special run of tires with black tread, and those gripped much better.
When we first talked to the engineers at the tire factory in Japan about the tires we wanted to make, they showed us many beautiful colors. There was a very attractive tea green… When we asked about the performance, the engineers left no doubt: “Black has the best grip.” What about the colored treads? “It’s all about fashion

Imo it looks fantastic with tanwalls. I would gussy it up with some coloured bartape. Getting hooded brake levers would also be a big improvement.

twer I to decide to adulterate a beautiful bicycle such as you possess with something other than a straight blackwall or skinwall, it would be a yellow tyre.

Red Hetre's go with almost everything... of course that would mean changing out to 650B if you haven't already.

That's a very nice old bike. I don't have a strong opinion about the color of tires. Mine are all black. If you really want to focus on the appearance of your bike, I would remove most of the stuff you have attached to it and put some decent bar tape on.

Don't screw it up.
That bike is like a fashion victim.
Get black tires or tan walls, like those you have.
Get some brake hoods. Modify or replace the pivot bolt in the lever to accommodate the hoods.
Get black cotton bar tape.
Get rid of the lights, get rid of the TWO bike locks, get rid of the kick stand, get rid of the bell, get rid of all the wiring, sensors, and cyclometer.
If you don't habitually ride in the rain, get rid of the fenders.
Get rid of the Pletscher rack.
Get back to basics, then build back better.

Black with brown sidewalls would be an excellent, tasteful and cultured choice IMO. Not sure if you want to go the late 70s BMX or early 2000s Hipster Fixie route with this bike.

I have that same bicycle, same color, that is first in the que (when I get around to working on my own bicycles). It doesn't have any original parts, except for maybe the derailleurs. It's planned build is a gravel mutt (1X), which almost everyone "adviced" me was weird, or wrong, or pointless. Only one person shared my "opinion"... that building it up that way was worth it, just to experience what the performance of it would be like. My suggestion to you: listen to advice (words coming from a place of knowledge), listen to opinion (words mostly based in feelings), but in the end, your conformational bias will probably rule your determination. I'll agree with the others, it is a lovely bicycle.
