This bike, a Pacific Reach City, is my daily transportation and takes me everywhere. It usually sports a set of Ortlieb panniers on the rack, stuffed full of all sorts of cargo, plus a veritable forest of lights. The small wheels are very handy for taking it onto trains, and the suspension is great for rough streets. I love it for its practicality and its uniqueness!


This one, a Specialized Myka Expert (which, in spite of the name, is pretty much an entry-level bike) is more for fun. I was 55 the first time I rode a mountain bike, and will never be skilled enough to do anything challenging with it, but it was just so much fun to ride that I couldn't resist getting one. I also use it for transportation when it's raining, since the disc brakes work much better in the wet than the rim brakes on my Reach.

Bill , your C'Dale as you call it is a very nice bike, and a great color combination. Remember, a bike is like a finger print. Very individual, and I enjoy them all.

I really that bike. I dont have a need for that type of bike
but it is a nice looking bike

My wife says I have forty bikes but I think the number is closer to ten. I do most of my riding on this bike. I want to try a saddle that is a little flatter on top but other than that I really like it. I got some help from a fitter and moved things around a bit for this bike.

I have a few older bikes also. This is a Gitane Tour de France. I think it's a 1970. It's getting new handlebar tape and some miles later in the week. I have a trials and a DH bike also but they don't get much use anymore.

The Gitane TdF is beautiful, Frank, everything about it says classic and elegance to me. TA crankset, leather saddle (Ideale of Brooks?), barcons and I believe Mafac brakes. What a great classic you have there. Not to shabby for an old tubing carpenter!

Bought this 86 le tour off craigslist, replaced every thing with shimano 600 and biopace. My neighbor has a body shop so he repainted it for me. It is my main ride for leisure.

My Gitaine Tour de France, converted to a fixed gear. I bought this in the early 70s and never let it go.

When I was in college the LBS had an orange Gitane TDF with white cloth bar tape, Mavic's and sew-ups in the window. I really lusted for that bike, enough so that I even devised plans on how best to break in and steal it. Never did, and just kept riding my Raleigh Super Course TT with red plastic bar tape, Mavic's and sew-ups.

Lazarus Short

I'm 63, and of late I've found it more and more difficult to swing my leg over my beloved PX-10. I found two Schwinns, an S-25 and an S-30 really cheap at a moving sale. After cannablizing the S-25, scrounging parts and a lot of work, I rode it today. It's a good fit, it's tractable, steady, stable, and...um...where did those bumps go? I think I'm going to like it, and all the upgrades that are possible will keep me occupied for a while. All in all, not bad for a $55 investment.

The former owner rode this thing in the desert, and it showed - dust and small pebbles in any upward-facing recesses, and a hefty thorn through the casing of the front Armadillo tire.
