I've suffered a relapse and found myself this morning doing a search for Treks under $100. This '91 popped up and I snagged it. Under the dust, I think it is pretty shiny. The stem is unlike the others I see in this thread with the brake cable pulley and bosses for a bottle cage. The seller is the second owner and it's been in storage for a few years. I'll come back with another picture or two after I get it cleaned up and the Accushift impressing me. Here's one of the sellers two photos. I didn't get the Ulock☹️

Hello, are the 730 and 750 Multitracks the only ones which have the mid-fork blade boss mount? Up here, I don't think many of these Multi-Tracks sold.

It depends on the year. The 1991 730 does not, but the 1994 730 does, for example.

Glad you like the Accushift; it sure slams into gear compared to modern Shimano. I am going 8 or 9 speed Shimano on the 90.
Or 7sp drop bar. 90 has a freewheel but 91 has freehub.
Both of mine are 21" black

Here is the '91 catalog. Looks like mid fork brazeons as on my '91.

Interesting, catalogs show '90 had green highlights (colors fade)

'91 used XCE and '90 used XCM, this is XCE - so probably '91.

FWIW, I'll post this here: To verify frame size (and model), look for a stamp at the BB. There is some confusion as to the sizing of these frames (C-C or C-T) and sometimes we don't have a tape measure. Also, to settle any potential disputes regarding sizing between vendor and buyer; check the BB.

Trek 750, size 21"

Correct on the hightlights; was thinking of my 91 930 MTB; 90 green, 91 blue on the highlights. Been on the indoor trackstand and have not been in the garage last month.

Hello, fairly new here! Reading thru here got me excited and ended signing up.. But the forum won't let me upload photos yet, would be glad to share my 1996 730 in Ice Fire. A build with mix of vintage and modern components.

P.S. If anyone's selling some 730-750 size 17-19" frameset, please let me know (I'm not fond of the color red lol)

Fenders?

My GF and I will be riding the GAP / C&O in the fall and I'm researching fender options for her 750. So far I'm seeing SKS may have something...

Is there a tried and true fender solution you folks have found? Her bike has 38mm tires and we'd like to keep them on it. This is her bike(posted here previously a year or two ago). There's been a few changes since then, one being a C15 carved Brooks saddle. We've done a couple self supported tours with it. The bike had 4 panniers and about 30 pounds on it..handled it great, she still loves the bike.

1991 Trek 750.

I have SKS Longboards (45 width) on my '95 Trek 730 Multitrack, running 700 x 37 Continental touring tires. I think SKS claim 28-38 mm tire width on their web site. I have a picture of that bike in this thread; post #570, if you want to see how they look.

Some people don't like that the Longboards have the fender stay mounts on the inside of the fenders, claiming that this interrupts the smooth inner surface of the fender, and causes some water to splash out of the fender under really wet conditions as opposed to being cleanly channeled away. I haven't been using it for commuting or touring - just for pleasure/fitness - and I haven't ridden through any really wet stuff since installing these fenders.

Cool..Thx John. The Longboards look good. They offer plenty of coverage. Some I've seen have shorter fenders on front or back and allow mud to be slung into the crank area..don't want that.

I like the offerings from Velo Orange. Here's my wife's 750 in fancy randonneuse mode:

I have the Planet Bike Cascadia fenders on my '97 750. I have the 45mm size and they cover the 38mm tires nicely. I have several Planet Bike accessories on various bikes and there's some value added there because replacement parts are very reasonably priced and the shipping is free. I've wagered that I couldn't have sent some of the things they've sent me in the mail for what I paid for them (like replacement fender stays, light brackets, etc.).

TH..The VO fenders look good, I'll look into those also. Thanks for posting the pic..very helpful.

Hok..Thanks for the confirmation on the 45mm width..you folks have made this purchase an easy decision rather than an extensive search. I also need to pick up a set of fenders for my 26x50mm mtn-bike drop-bar conversion tour bike. Looks like there's some easy picks there too..

I like the Cascadia fenders on my mtb conversion. Those are 2.15" tires under 2" fenders, and they fit fine.

Thx. Nice ride. Looks very good. I know how it rides(awesome) as mine is quite similar, though I have drop bars.

I'm running 2.15" tires (Big Bens, though I may try DTH's), so those fenders might be "it". I wanted silver color also.

Thx for the confirmation.

I had the DTH's, but found them very heavy (and would not buy them again).

My 91 750. I've swapped out some of the parts (still have the originals stashed away), I also have a different wheelset with larger tires I can quickly swap out.
