Assess yourself for 2022!

It's New Year's Eve (still, here in California's elbow). Usually I'd start this thread about a week before Christmas, but it's been busy! Check your entries in the mileage thread and think back on your year. How did you do? Did you set goals (for mileage or budget or fitness), did you meet them? Did you learn, were you happy? What does 2022 look like?

Previous iterations.

Another decent year for bike commuting for me. I missed a total of TWO years after the Christmas break when there was 10 cm of snow. Total mileage was 18,999 km, including all of my non-commuting rides, of which there were lots. Weather was excellent during the winter months. No major incidents, thankfully, with only a couple of non-road crashes on single track.

Well, my 2022 rando season was a ****-show, and WFH made me too lazy to bike-commute very much. So not great on serious accomplishments, but I still got in more than a few fun bike rides with friends.

Looking forward to 2023, I want to tackle PBP again, so brevets and commuting will get a renewed push.

Only about 300 miles commuting in 2022, and that's due to starting a new job in October, my first in-person employment since before the pandemic began. So, I biked to/from work about 15 times during the last quarter of 2022. My goal is to ride to/from work 3 times a week (I have to commute in the car with the missus twice weekly) this year. That should result in 3,300 miles of just commuting to/from work. I'm going in to '23 a lot better prepared for foul weather and I want to limit my use of the car as much as possible.
