And the rider was airlifted where? Is this part of a trail?

I was out on an early morning ride on the trail. Overnight a dead tree fell across the trail. After I took the picture I moved the tree off of the trail and cleaned up the shrapnel.

Ahh, I had presumed your bike hopped over the tree and then was so tired it had to lie down for a nap.

A few images from Gravel Locos in Hico, TX this weekend. A friend and I did the la Mediana 63 mile course. I didn't take enough pictures, but it was an amazing event. We had run and mud in the short one; the 155 with the pros got hit hard with rain toward the end. Ten Dam Laurens (Netherlands) won the 155.

I had to move that fallen tree on to the trail to make the picture more dramatic! It was easy

I rode through the hills of Brentwood, Pacific Palisades and Topanga-ish, including an area that was just hit with the Palisades wild fire. It's like Mad Max.

Got in 45 miles yesterday, hot humid and full of screeching cicadas...........still loved it. Rode near Leesburg, Va.

View towards Shenandoah mnts./Skyline Drive

Love these walls
I did go down once while a truck was passing, I went to close to the rough loose gravel edge. No problem but my butt hurts today. Drank 1 gallon of water during the ride, 2 quarts after the ride and was still thirsty so I drank a beer

650x47 WTB Byways and I was running about 23/25 psi so I felt confident enough, though, would have been nicer to have a little more tread in the center. The other guys faired fine on their 700x38s.

Yes particularly flat here on the Des Moines lobe. Great training grounds with lots of short punchy rolling terrain. Some spots the climb is maybe 100' but you can see for miles.
