Yes it is, found it on Coronado island in the fall of 88. Still sports its original paint, top, and yellow ochre interior. Thanks for noticing.

lol you say that like 'Coronado Island' is a remote wasteland and you found it abandoned behind a beach dune or in a barn or something

Was just trying to be brief, but I guess if one had no idea about the what, and where of Coronado island they could think that. Is there even a barn on the island? I spent a lot of time there, and never saw one, at least what I would consider a barn living in Wisconsin.
Actually a very nice family had it, The original owner was the wife of a retired Marine Corps general, the daughter had inherited the car, and the grandson was using it. Grandson needed money for college, and they were asking 4K for it. Car only had 17000 miles on it, left a deposit, and said I’d be back in 3 weeks to pick it up, I was a Marine aviator at the time, and leaving for an exercise up at 29 Palms the next day. When I went to pick it up, they said the had numerous significantly higher offers, but kept their agreement with me.
Like I said, nice family!

Gotta love the integrity of people accustomed to a military sense of duty!

I bet there has been at least 1 barn on the island in its total history, did westerners occupy it pre-1900 at all? I don't know. (Then again, a hypothetical historical barn like that would not have survived to eventually house an MG. So I'll change my original jibe from 'barn' to 'hangar' :-)

Yup! Fortunate to deal with a Marine Generals daughter. Agreed, had to be a barn somewhere at one time, and good choice, lots of hangers on the island.

Oh my!

https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/b...388311222.html

Shimano rx100 shifters, front derailleur, and brakes
Shimano 105 rear derailleur
Shimano wh-r500 front hub and wheel
Quando rear hub
Sun Rims M13II rear rim
Continental duraskin rear tire
Vittoria pro slick front tire

Needs new bar tape. Lots of chips in the paint.

There is a crack in the seat tube which is compressed with some hose clamps. It’s been that way for years. Works great.

Great commuter

Has to be a story here!! Tragically, there was a 2nd such ad by same party but alas, CL pulled it as it too was flagged

https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/b...394670937.html

It's just a bike, CLown flagger - $1 (West Loop

Saved this bikey especially for you, CL flagger.

I'm sorry you never passed 6th grade and mommy is doing her financial best supporting you while you're still living in her basement and feeling your peach fuzz micro nads.

Life move on and help is available versus wasting it flagging others bikey's on CL.

Will personally meet you during lunch break in the West loop to discuss your mental and jealousy issues. I'm sure we'll make this bike permanently fit your fookn'arse.

I can't be certain, but at first glance it appears the frame is made from a 2x4.
Not sure if you were joking based on the respray color, but no, that's a Bike E recumbent. The angle at the tail end of the frame is the visual giveaway. Brand made a minor splash in the '90s, gone by the early '00s. So it's appropriate to this section, as it's 20-30 years old. This appears to be a copper colored re-paint. Not sure how it was priced, but it's gone, so it was probably reasonable given what it is.

Poor choice of brand name on the part of the founders, as I'm sure it caused confusion with the term "e-bike", even back then.

A bit more 411: https://bicycleman.com/brands-we-don...ee-recumbents/

Very wise to strip the paint, draws attention away from the defore hubs and the luggs.

Juevella Steel frame nervex luggs 52 - $350 (napa county)

Steel framed suisse bike with nervex luggs. Stripped paint to be a little more undercover. Rides great, replaced brake lines and brakes, vintage Ideale saddle. Rear rack. Upgraded defore xt hubs.
