I apologize as I quite often have to point out the obvious to you, but I believe the average age of BF posters is the geriatric crowd(myself included at 56)as geriatric is simply defined as ‘older’
Sorry if using a term that references the average age of my audience causes you discomfort

It causes no discomfort, but it is curious. You seem rather fixated on it.

I'm still wondering about the connection between age and people's jersey choices?

Maybe it's for clothes kit sizing. Or not.

A thought just popped into my head.(That doesn't happen often)

If someone orders a bike online, say from Canyon, and that bike has to be assembled by the end user, would that be considered a cycling kit? Hmmm.

Might be a fun game to see if I can write you-know-who's responses to me without actually looking at them, but then I'd have to read them to see if I got it right.

The guy's as predictable as a sunrise, but not pretty at all.

WTH?

I do occasionally wear other fabrics (polyester "performance" tee shirts), but cotton is most typical for me.
No. Sorry. Not accusing you of lying. It just sounds like such a terrible idea, especially if wearing underwear while cycling in cotton cargo shorts.

Works great for me. I have no opinion on whether it's a good or bad idea for others and I haven't suggested anyone try it. I have ridden up to 168 miles in one day wearing such attire without any ill effects, so I do find it funny when people insist it's inevitable that it will cause problems.

Thank you for clarifying that you weren't accusing me of lying.

I used to wear it when I rode on a team. Nowadays I wear it not because I am on a team, or are a fan of a particular team, but because every year I can find great deals on previous years' team jerseys.

i tend to avoid logos/brand names of all kinds in all clothes and accessories, but sometimes subtle ones are unavoidable - but brand names, absolutely not any kind of "team" name which i'm unaffiliated with. the only thing i have that's heavily logoed are some specialized / s-works shoes.

Agreed. I figure if you want me to advertise your company or product, you should be paying me.

However, with foreign cycling teams with bizarre company sponsor names, not recognized in the US, I will make an exception.

Do any of you cover over or remove the logos on your vehicles if the manufacturers haven’t paid you?

Driving around with logos is different than riding around with logos because it's closer to your body? Is there a formula to describe this logo intensity? Is it like that of radiation, the inverse square of the distance between body and logo?

last i checked, you can’t drive without a car, and the vast majority of vehicles have logos attached by the manufacturer! on the other hand, there are literally hundreds, maybe thousands of choices for clothing (which also stays on my body when i’m not in the car or on the bike) without logos, or with subtle ones. i choose those.

Inversely proportional to the number of watts generated by the engine?

And that reminds me that the car shows opens in town today.

So, logos are okay on your vehicles and your shoes, but not on your clothing? How about your bike?

Your analogy is weird.....Removing vehicle logos would decrease the value of that vehicle if you ever have to sell it or trade it in for another vehicle. Vehicle brand is also the main selling point and why certain people choose a particular brand...Some vehicle brands also possess a " snob appeal " and that's the main reason why certain people buy them.

I don't mind certain brands of logos on my clothing, in fact I like some logos. I just avoid cycling specific brands and cycling logos...I actually removed logos from all of my bikes, my bikes are no name brand.

as i said, i choose clothing without prominent logos. my preference would be for none, which is sometimes possible and sometimes not.

there is a big difference between having a giant logo on your shirt, which is attached to your body and implies a certain affinity (that i personally don’t feel) and a subtle word, logo, etc on a vehicle.

but to answer your question, i would likely also not buy a bike that had really over the top branding, no matter how much affinity i had for the brand. it’s ugly.
