Bridge over the San Joaquin River below Friant Dam. The bridge was built in 1952. In the background are the remains of the North Fork Road Bridge that was built in 1906 and collapsed in floodwaters in 1951. My dad always claimed he drove over it the same day it fell.

My purple Trek 1220 photo from todays ride, the black bike is a Univega Nuovo Touring I used for the clunker challange this year and the blue bike is a Univega 5 speed that was sold this spring. The bridge is over the Pine river in Midland Michigan.

My Cimarron on the Hennepin Canal tow path, before I did the drop bar conversion. This bridge is crossing the canal.
Interesting ride, last time I was on the canal tow path, the walls were collapsing due to lack of maintenance. History is being lost here.
Canal tow path gores from Bureau, Illinois to Moline, Illinois.
Mine could be the cheapest bike in this thread, bought at a garage sale for $15. Since then, I have done a fair amount of upgrades to this bike.

Pardon the seat angle on the counterfeit Confente, and incorrect or missing bar tape on the blue Cinelli and the Wizard.... Most of these were taken on shakedown rides...

While riding the 720 I got a flat out in the middle of nowhere and had to walk my bike back a gazillion miles. I went back the next day and rode the same stretch on my Miyata, just to show the trail who's boss. Took pix at the same bridge- but opposite ends, on consecutive days. On the Miyata picture- you can see a tree down across the trail- it wasn't like that the day before.

Lugged steel? As a matter of fact, yes! 1984 Dahon Classic III on the Canadian Covered Wagon Bridge (the wagons being covered, not the bridge)

Was thinking of this thread while I was out finishing the clunker challenge today. They certainly didn't skimp on material when they built bridges on the Roanoke River Greenway.

World War 1 memorial bridge built in the mid 20s. A modern bridge has bypassed it, but the original remains and is still used for vehicle traffic. This picture is from a nice multi-use path below it from a ride this morning.

Albert Bridge, London
Built 1873: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Bridge,_London
Battersea Park is right next to it and I regularly cycle round that a few times while trying not to kill pedestrians.
Still trying to get the hang of the camera on this phone.
