Addiction 2021.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How quick could anything be at a not-serious business?

I got up just in time for the 24 Hours of Spa start.

Spa, Belgium weather report: overcast. Same here, but it's just a little hotter here.

Oooh, raining in Spa now

Many cars are spinning, then trying to scoot into the pits for tyres right quick

Live action is here:

So, Same as it ever was? I remember reading decades ago what a problem it is for racers when rain is not absolutely an all-day thing - it starts raining, and if you pit to change to race tires but the rain stops, you're at a disadvantage and will have to pit again to put on slicks. If you stay on slicks and the rain stops, you gain on the people who switched tires by not having to pit twice, plus you're on better tires in the dry. But if the rain DOESN'T stop and you're on slicks you'll probably crash.

Clearly, a problem they haven't solved.

Yep. There are a lot of turtles in their enclosure and scores of free roaming birds, including guinea fowl.

I think they also only mate in water.

Flat repair takes a couple of minutes. Sometimes, customers don't even realized that we've finished the job. We can chat and repair at the same time. #multitaskers

it's day 2. just got done and showered. It crapped out at 25 minutes but I got the back lawn done and went to the front and got a head start on day 3 of mowing activities. 25 minutes on the battery! SMFH!!

Went in to work for about 3 hours to catch up then got my emissions test on the way home. Busy aggravating day. Haven't had lunch yet. Still have bill paying and various house duties to catch up on. Vacations suck.

It takes me longer than that, and I'm serious about it.

If I brought a broken spoke to your "quick fix" department, how long would I have to wait? Two hours?
