Can you feel it?

It's coming. It's right around the corner. Dust off those stored away cross bikes and check that your tubs are glued on well. If you need tubs get them now because you know how it is, they never seem to make enough.

Thinking about going back to a single ring set up this year.

Oh, I can feel it alright. For me, it feels kind of like, "Holy crap, what happened to all the time I had to get myself in shape?"

I've been chomping at the bit since sometime last December to get going again, but now that it's here I see that I'm not ready. Even so, I can't wait.

I'm just giddy at the thought of it. Next weekend will be when I get the bike in race mode and start pestering friends to host a tubular gluing party. I can't wait.

Officially moved the Ksyriums to my cross bike and put on the Mud2s.

Need to do a little work on the headset tomorrow, but otherwise ready to start falling over.

I hope to race CX for the first time this year (other than tris would actually be my first bike race ever).
A thumb injury has kept me off the bike or even running since June.
Probably cvan't due CX until Oct, but still might try a clinic on 8-28. They are having homebrew if I can't ride.

My cross bike is in bits and pieces since last weekend getting it primed and ready.
Fenders, lights and slicks are off. Commuter status over. Bring on the knobbies.

I've even pre-registered for the SSCXWC and don't even have a single speed rigged up yet. Something tells me my old Nishiki is coming out of hybernation.

I'm looking at getting some Mavic Reflex rims to replace the dented twisted up Campy Barcelona rims I have now and are unusable. The rim profiles are the same so I will build them up with the same spokes. Make a nice pit wheel set. I'm also thinking about going back to a single ring, single barcon set up. Last year was the first year I used STI, 10 speed and I don't like it. I don't think 10 speeds works well on the cross course, to many damn gears. I use like 3 or 4 gears so all those other cogs just get used to ramp the chain over to where I need it. Plus with a barcon I can dump the whole cassette in either direction even when under stress. I have a lot of 8 speed stuff laying around.

IDK I need to think about this. I'll probably take her out this weekend and mill over the situation.

I've still got a hip injury from racing last season, this season isn't looking good.

From my singlespeed bike, every time I raced my hip would start hurting 1/2 way through and then ache for the next day, by the end of the season it just didn't go away and it's been with me a year now. I've finally gotten into physical therapy but it's gonna take a while.

I sure can. I'm building up a real cross bike for this season (raced a vintage bike conversion last year). The frame (crux) should be out late august. They better be on time, I wanna race!

Took the cross bike out on my recovery ride last night. Rode on the grass and gravel along side the blacktop where safe. Got home at dark then went into the back yard and did some dismounts and mounts just to get the feelings again. A couple more RR and crits and its full on for cross season. I had my left ankle fused last Dec 1 and for the first time in years there is no pain when "off the bike" or OTS.

I've got a list of stuff to do to the bike, including putting on a different saddle and a brake housing stop on the fork to try to alleviate brake chatter. I've got a new front brake lever to put on as well. First race of the season around here is about a month away.

Oh, and I have to get myself ready. First track workout was last week, I'll do it again at least once this week. Long-ish rides suck this time of year, but it'll be worth it in November.

Built a new bike, put together a training plan, glued-up some tubies and bought a 12 pack of Hoegaarden this weekend. I'm ready to go.

I put the cross tires on the bike last night. I've got my first clinic tonight. There's a "farm crit" next weekend, then the first CX race of the year on September 12. I'm definitely feeling it now.

Make sure you know how to pronounce Hoegaarden

First practice session tonight and I have yet to set up my bike. It will work though.

I'm feeling it in all kinds of ways now. On Monday it felt like sore calves from hill running. Today, it feels like a big ol' bruise on my right shoulder from practicing shouldering technique at a clinic last night.

Four days until Kruger's Kermesse!

I am damn right giddy right now. First two races this for me are this coming weekend (Monson and Palmer Ma). I am hoping all the hard work this year has paid off. I am down 10 lbs from last years racing weight and a good bit stronger.

He pulls to the left after the remount. I've got the same problem

Also, it's cool now, but in 30 years, he's gonna look like this.

Seriously, though, that's truly awesome.
