I guess my cycling goals for 2021 are a bit varied. I want to use my bikes more for errands, shopping and commuting type trips. I am not setting any mileage or time in saddle goals this year. I really think I want to just ride and not be concerned with distance or avg. speed, or any statistical data. Secondly, I would like to decide which 3 bikes, maybe 4, to keep and which to move on. Along with this, sort out all the stuff I cannot, or do not, want to use, and try to sell or pass it along. The real goal I need to accomplish is to not spend so much money on bike stuff, especially things I really do not need. At this point, realistically, there is really nothing that I need. I really stocked up on most of the consumables stuff this past spring.

It would be great if I stumble upon an inexpensive 56-57cm frameset for my bin of '80s Campañola, and it turns out so f'n boss I want to sell two of my other bikes.

Continue to build endurance with my left knee. I've done 38 and 40 milers recently, and those have been huge advancements.
Keep the 'fleet' to one bike unless "necessary," even if I'd like to buy up all the vintage 25.5" Treks in existence. If another bike, 73° HT angle will be the steepest I'll go (no angled-down quill stems!)

Would like to keep the seasonal mileage between 2000-2500 miles. Seems to be a good balance.
Hoping to get my weight under 190 pounds. Right now, I'm right around 200, since a high of 230 in April 2018.
Do the Harmon Hundred in under 5:45 rolling time. Did it in 5:56 in 2019. Was in good form in 2020, but...
Finally, I would like to get the Ciocc back on the road. It was ridden hard and put away wet in 2015. Need to build a wheelset.

Bike-related goals: sell one frame, modify one frame; sell some parts, modify some parts; ride some bikes, modify some bikes. Not necessarily in that order.

Pedalin' Erry Day
I met my 2020 goal of downsizing my bike and parts collection and then exploring a new area after moving across the country. My 2021 goals are to get back into shape quickly now that we've passed the winter solstice and to explore further afield in California once the pandemic is over and it's responsible to travel again. Not C&V related, but if the supply situation improves I'd like to build a really modern road bike this summer so that I can get some first-hand experience actually riding on the latest and greatest stuff.

Eerily similar to my disposition these days. In my case, sanity hangs in the balance. Plug away and please take us along for the ride. 🙂

Wife and I are hoping in June to finally do the Erie Canal ride from Buffalo to Albany and spend a little over a week on the ride and visit with my parents. We've also set the goal of doing The Adirondack Trail Race (TATR) which is a non-stop 550+ mile adventure race around the Adirondacks. We've never done anything quite this ambitious before. We're building up new framesets that can take wider tires then our old ones but transferring most of the parts. Hopefully we can recover some money with the old framesets and sell them with the stock wheels they came with so we're not pulling an N+2.

Go back to the States in Apr, build out a Gugification modded Witcomb, build out a Gugification Gran(d) Sport(s) as a market bike. Sell a few bikes that I do not need/want.
Ride a bunch.
Come back to Cambodia in Sept and bring my Witcomb as a tourer.

1. Cino.
2. Camping road trip with my wife. Bring the tandem and ride new places. (Maybe this can be combined with the Cino trip if I can fit both bikes in the camper.)
3. Come to accept the fact that 40 miles really is my wife's limit on the tandem.

Ride more, buy less, pay attention to the details that need to be corrected on the bikes I have, sell excess stuff, maybe paint at least one of the three frame sets needing it. Paint and build the bike for my daughter. She may get space for one this year.

I happen into bikes pretty frequently, but rarely plan for them. This year, I have two general build goals: (1) source a frame for a really nice fixed gear, and (2) find and lace up a good set of hubs for my Nisi tubular rims, possibly to use as primary wheels on my Jeunet.
As for riding, I'd like to add some longer rides just for variation. I've been keeping most rides beneath 90 minutes simply to economize on time.

I firmly resolve to do all the things I resolved to do but didn't in 2020, which were pretty much all the things I resolved to do but didn't in 2019, which were pretty much all the things I resolved to do but didn't in 2018 . . . . You get the idea.
Next year, rinse and repeat.

Get rid of most bikes.
Get my gravel bike built.
Ride more, but discard Strava.
Hike more.
Symphony more.
Theatre more.
Zwift less.
Gave away a Paramount and 3 Centurion frames (Comp TA, Turbo, Prestige). Also some wheels, some forks....that part is going well.
But picked up four bikes and a frame set. Very much fail, but at least they were so-called “better.”

- Lose some of those Corona-kilos.
- Make some of the bikes I have rideable again.
- Sell some of the bikes I won't ever be using.
- Finish the 2 (3?) projects I currently have going
- Don't look for too many new bikes

Like a lot of people, I'd like to pare down the collection. I was sure that I was done, and was very happy that I felt I was done, but then a track frameset showed up.
Really I need to decide whether to let one go or squeeze it in somehow. I'm planning on moving across the country here shortly so that's also complicating things!
I suppose a zero bike at my parent's house wouldn't be the worst thing...
Most importantly though:
Find a club or other community of riders. I've been at my current location for 5 years or so and never rode with any clubs or made many cycling friends (or friends at all, FWIW). I get so envious seeing groups of friends going out and doing cool stuff, and I know the reason I'm not doing the same thing is that I haven't put in the effort.
Oh, and of course, get fitter, lighter, faster, better at mountain biking, etc

I passed the bulk of 2020 with serial injuries, and a lockdown(no riding during lockdown, here). And in the process, I lost my mojo. I hope to average 30 miles per week this year. Setting reachable goals.
