Best place to grab a hot coffee and a true ham, egg an cheese English muffin! So close to my temporary loft home too.

Roof got battered by the last hurricane and the owner decided to let it ride until the city condemned the building. Now I’ve got to go find where they moved to!

Shaking down the new Trek on the local mup, I noticed a blue tire. Looking closer I realized it's an early 80s Schwinn tire. If it hadn't had threads showing through the tread, I would have tried ebaying it....

Upon further inspection, a Schwinn Predator blue bmx tire

Sad I remember when it was Central Lunch, now gone the way of Buck's Grill and Scott's Restaurant on New Bridge St. That whole triangle shaped "island" in the middle of Chaney Ave., Johnson & Marine Blvds needs to be torn down & redeveloped. I remember when there was an A&P, Onslow Cleaners, Central Lunch and Blanchard's Texaco all in that landlocked triangle that was my cut-through route to Northwoods on my bike.

I was out and about the neighborhood last night, on my 1949 Raleigh Clubman "Path Racer". The sun was low in the sky, with sunset only an hour or so away.

This vision stopped me in my tracks:

Many years ago, this place was an "Embers" restaurant, with a more subdued decor. Now it's a place called "Pineda Tacos", and it has received a very colorful update that really makes the geometry pop.
The bike doesn't look too shabby in this light either.

some shots from a recent ride near High Ridge, MO.
The route was recommended by one of the guys at Billy Goat Cycles in the St. Louis area. Like a lot of riding in the area outside of the city, there is little traffic and plenty of hills!
About 30 miles with 2000 feet of climbing. Max grade is 10%, which was about correct for my low gear that day!

part of the fun of riding a new route is just the simple task of not getting lost. Fortunately, some of the road names give a hint about what you see, such as this turn onto Glade Chapel road.

With all of the trees, it's hard to get a shot that communicates what sort of road inclination is being experienced. With a bit of horizon showing, and the cars' brake lights lit up, this starts to suggest a fun downhill. Of course, it was followed by plenty of climbing.

near the end, the route passes over highway 21... nominally the literal high point of the ride.

Roger on both those requests! Have to find some way to slow this little girl down. She is all action since she feels better.
