SHIMANO 100 WORKS, coffee table book lottery

I'm curious if anybody won the lottery for the Shimano 100 Works coffee table book. If so, are you paying the almost $100 for the book? Winners were to be notified today by email.

Thanks for the reminder and it looks like I didn't get the chance to buy the book. I was hoping though.

I don't think I won. Ah well. Probably not paying $100 for a book even if really neat. The only time I might pay that much if it is a first edition that I have to have but that is unlikely as I am not really a bibliophile.

Uhhh well I mean technically I don't do the whole religion thing but no bibliophile's are not bible related necessarily unless that is a book you wish to collect.

I got the email that I won a few days ago, I did the process of adding my address and doing the payment right away. It's supposed to be shipping in September.

Looks like they set a deadline for purchase by June 30th, I wonder if they'll release more then if people don't pay.

I'd think that a scam based on what RandomDesign posted. I've never gotten anything from Shimano about a contest and I'm on their lists...... or so I thought. Maybe they decided I'm too much trouble! <grin>

It's real.
The book and associated lottery to buy one was part of Shimano's 100th Anniversary Website.

[QUOTE=RandomDesign;22096251]I got the email that I won a few days ago, I did the process of adding my address and doing the payment right away.

Stupid question. Did you register your address first with the order number before purchase. My number isn't working not sure what I'm doing wrong

Yes, I registered address first then the site takes you through to payment. Not particularly slick.

NOTE: If the system fails to recognize you and your order number..... the email address you enter IS case sensitive.

Yep...Really...Duh!!!

What were they thinking

Barry

OH, and at the end of the process kinda leaves you hanging...... purchase Confirmation email takes 60 seconds.

Last night I got the shipping notification (FedEx) for my book.

Stated weight for the shipment is 2.5Kg (5.5lb)
BTW that seems to be heavy for a book.

Today they release R9200 and R8100 road groupsets.
I suspect those are in the book, which is why we had to wait for it.

Just got the book today (September 2). Kind of forgot about it. Smart packaging. Big, wonderful pictures of all things Shimano over the past 100 years, but mostly cycling related. Just flipped through it. I'll spend more time with it later (maybe with white cloth gloves on!).

Because the book is swanky or because you noticed fingers mark the pages?

swanky! I'm not a big fan of coffee books. I leaf through them and then they gather dust. It's a photo book, nothing as to background on products selected for 100 years of history. A lot on "333" bike bits. I'll delve into it this weekend.

Shimano book arrival

Timed, if not a bit late, with 12 speed launch of Shimano's new gruppo, R9200. Semi-wireless shifting sounds cool. I'll wait for it to trickle down to Ultegra and in price. Di2 is solid now so I trust it...I think!
