Preferred 700x25c clincher tires for Eroica or Cino
So I've begun a Cino/Eroica build and just cleaned up, trued, and greased a very business like wheels (Trek Matrix rims, Sansin hubs). The frame which I will reveal soon will handle 700x25c tires at the biggest. I have the 28c tires which won't fit so I will need to order some.
So that brings up the question, what's everyone's current favorite 25c tire? I'm a $30/tire type a guy If that helps. Thanks

You can usually order folding Paselas for under $30/ea.

Not sure on prices, but Donnelly Strada LGG come in gumwall.
Panaracer Paselas also come in gumwall.
Maxxis Re-fuse are usually good value, but no gumwall.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Gumwalls are not a requirement for me. I know it makes the look, but I don't really care one way or the other.

I think you can find Gravel Kings for under $30 if you’re patient. Check eBay. I have two sets of 28’s that both measure 26. I used GK’s at Eroica last year.

My favorite 25c tire with a file type tread is the Vittoria Rubino Pro III. I've had them on a bunch of bikes and they flat less than any tire I've ever used. Out of production now but you can often find them in singles on eBay for under $30 per. I rode them in 2016 on my Cinelli, they worked great.
If you're OK with a non-folding tire, the less expensive version of the Pasela is a good choice for Eroica. I rode 32's in 2018, had great traction but also flatted once.
Last year rode GK 32's and will again this year unless I decide to pony up for larger ones. They are nice for events with mixed road surfaces.

I like Pasela's and I've had them on and off bikes over the years (I have the 35c version on my Jamis now, 32c version on my wife's bike). They're fine, but for me they have always seemed like slower rollers. I'll get them when I have too so to speak. That said I do like Vittoria Randonneurs, they always rolled well for me but...they're kinda heavy.
I like the looks of the Maxxis Re-Fuse and the Panaracer Gravel Kings. Any others people like?

I love how the Continental Grand Prix classics ride and look. One of my bikes is gold, and the dark brown sidewalls look better than if I had chosen Paselas.

My favorite 700c x 25 tire for Cino would be more like a 35mm, or at least a 32mm. That is some beastly pounding gravel for a 25.
I ran 38mm tires last year (because I could) and I still got the numbies in my hands. Actually had to pull over and give my hands a therapeutic massage a few times.
Maybe it's just 'cause I ride so fast

Ditto, Conti Grand Prix Classics. Great looking and riding tires for about $30 each.
Classic tread with small sipes and sidewall chevron pattern. Reddish brown sidewalls. These appear to be true skinwalls, not gumwalls -- the sidewalls are translucent. I put about 1,000 miles on a set I got last summer and they still look great, little wear.

I've got Continental Grand Prix and Grand Prix 4000s on my 'normal' racing bikes. Not too sure about gravel but they ride fine. I am sure that those classics are quite good too.
I have Michelin Classics on "the old bike". It looks the part but I wouldnt want to depend on them on a long ride (say,... 50-60K+?), espescially one I paid for to participate .
I'd rather trust the Continentals.
FWIW
edit: link: https://www.retro-gression.com/produ...c-classic-tire no connection, and over here (E.U.) you can get them cheaper. It was just one of the first links with a decent picture.

For training - the cheapest and oak clinchers, for racing - also a clincher, but light and soft. Ride on tubes - the lot of pros and fans (IMHO)

I used 25mm Gatorskins on Matrix rims at Eroica CA. You should search a little bit about Matrix rims and tires that are too tight for them. I was fortunate that I didn't flat that year. Other years I used Sprinter Gatorskin Tubulars.

Vittoria corsa g+ and continental grand prize 4000/5000. Close to $30/tire and roll with less resistance.

I see that Competitive Cyclist has the Schwalbe One V-Guard 700x25 with tan wall in stock for around $33 each. I rode the blackwall version for about a year. Outstanding race/speed oriented tire, but a bit fragile. Mine suffered several cuts from ordinary road debris, but only one puncture and the cuts in the rubber tread didn't cause the tube to avulse through. The thin puncture shield is very tough for such a light and fast rolling tire. Some of my fastest Strava times were set on those tires.
I can't recommend it for something like Eroica. But I might snag a pair for my next KOM attempts. There are a couple of 5-6 mile time trial segments nearby where I'm hoping to improve my speed. TBH, the KOM is way out of my reach, but I want to retain my top ten finish in one segment, and crack it in another. Tough goal because most of the top ten are guys and gals half my age riding for the local pro and serious amateur teams.
I'd still go with the Continental Grand Prix Classic for a skinwall look in a durable, smooth rolling tire. It's not racy like the Schwalbe, but a bit lighter and smoother rolling than the excellent and underrated Conti Ultra Sport II that I've ridden for a couple of years for everyday use, including some of my fastest Strava times.

I've done Cino twice on 28 Paselas, which measure 26mm on MA40 rims. They worked great, though if you can fit something wider that's obviously a better option.
