Wahoo Tickr + Garmin 530 issue
For the last few rides my Tickr has been reading too low on my Garmin head unit. Ive tried re-pairing it and that made no difference.
Example 1: yesterday, I included a climb that starts with a pitch that gets up to 25% and my HR only recorded 106 at the top of the steepest section.
Example 2: Today, I included a 2km long, 8.5% avg climb and my HR only recorded 90, with a avg HR for the whole ride around 100.
I make sure the pads are wet when I put the strap on and the batteries were changed about a month ago, although a busy workload has meant not a huge amount of time on the bike in that period.
For the record: I am also running a 4iiii power meter to the same head unit.
Has anyone else had this issue and managed to find a solution?

You might go to the Garmin Forums and ask over there in the Edge 530 sub-forum. I haven't been over there in many a year. But for certain you'll probably find someone that's had a very similar issue there.
It's a user helps user forum. So don't expect Garmin to actually answer. Though every great once-in-a-while they do.

Well not your specific issue but I've had issues with the Tickr -- after a few months to a year or so of hard use it gets wonky and unreliable. Replacing the battery, cleaning the strap, and moistening the contact points only do so much. Eventually I think they just wear out. I've worn out 3-4 of them in 5 years or so.
As much as I like Wahoo products I don't think their HRM is tough enough for heavy sweaters. I've started using the Garmin HRM but I haven't had it long enough to have a verdict on its longevity.

Went out for a ride tonight and the HR monitor worked fine. Two things I did before I left was 1) Wipe down the strap, particularly the sensors; 2) twist the strap around my torso, so its slightly off centre, which is a trick I read on DCRainmaker's site.
My money is on the cleaning to be the thing that solved the issue.

Update! I've found that rotating the band so the "buckle" is at about 11 o'clock gives much more consistent readings with the Tickr. Does anyone else find this?

I have the tickr forearm version connected to my 1030+ and my e bikes computer one is ant and one Bluetooth. on this one two block hill my hr is always 82 or so a few hundred feet after it it goes to where it should be 130 or so. just to make sure I had my HR going on my apple watch. no towers close just a car auction place that is often closed. this happens every time and I ride that hill 5 days a week.

Not truly related.
I'm having troubles connecting my two Gen1 Tickr X's to my Roam.
Opened a Wahoo support case and was VERY well taken care of!
Let's see if it fixes the problem.

Bluetooth or Ant+. I understand there are intermittent problems with BT, but ANT+ is good. Alas, my 'puter doesn't allow ANT+ connection, so I can't attest to this.
