Was watching the initial auction because I own one. Final bid was $910. Nice bike, but overpriced in my opinion. Within a day, the bike was relisted with a buy it now price of $1200. Curious what the hive thinks of the price and possible shenanigans over the first auction and subsequent relisting.

I think the reason it could be so 'highly regarded' right now is that specialized did a special paint job on one of the race bikes for the Unbound 200 which mimicked this paint scheme, as a tribute to this bike being one of the first 'gravel' bikes. Which gravel is very popular right now.

Typically, an auction will bring less than a buy it now price. So maybe someone bought it and thought they could make more by listing it buy it now in hopes that someone would come across it with the dough during the long term buy it now price vs the people who only showed up for the one week it was listed as an auction.

I can't tell if the current seller is the same person who originally listed the bike which apparently sold for $910. However, the description in both listings is identical including first person statements about modifications or servicing of the bike. My suspicious mind wonders if the $910 was a shill bid and now the original guy is trying a different approach.

I agree with Habes the seller may hope the Specialized paint job on a Diverge for the Unbound 200 will stir $1200 worth of interest in a 32-year-old bike. Mine fits my needs for a gravel grinder, but I realize it is old technology. I acquired mine in a trade, have less than $200 in it.

Link? All I see is a frame for $679.99. FWIW there were a quality machine just a weird answer in search of customers. I think they were trying to attract people who were into mountain biking but getting into cyclocross

Seller is the same for both. Looks like the $1200 was taken down without being sold. Maybe seller sold it outside eBay or we'll see it again in a few days.
