Show off your Reynolds 753 bikes

To avoid further highjacking of another thread, I am starting this one. Show off your Reynolds 753 bikes. I will start with my Raleigh Team Pro SB1016. Color in first pic is a bit odd as I was playing with an old roll of film. Will have to get around to shooting it digital.

The image isn't too good but the bike looks great. It's a 1995 Waterford 1200

The only original part was the Stronglight headset.

I am not buying anymore bikes for a while...as tempting as they may be. Passing on BBM's Primato was almost as hard as passing on Hillary's De Rosa signature. The ONLY thing that saved me from that one was that the De Rosa Signature I fell in love with was grey/silver.

I think all these frames--at lest the ones avail. to the public--came with only one bottle cage mount. I needed to replace the down tube on mine about 20 years ago. Took that opportunity to add the second set of bottle cage mounts, as well as repair a broken brake cable guide. Be glad you still have the original paint!

Those are 300 series Long Shen lugs (aka. Arrowhead lugs)
edit: I take that back. Those are not the Long Shen lugs. Long Shens do not have the three points.

Well glad to know that a 753 frame is repairable. That explains why the seat tube yellow is a little orange.

Ah, this thread is awesome! Now I've got to go dig up a few photos I took my buddy's Waterford 1200 we built. That's definitely 753.

Is there a rider weight limit to 753? I know it has fabulously thinner walls, so I wonder if that means the Clydes can't really ride it?

I have suspicions that my Merckx may be.
It is strange though, the frame is much lighter than any of the Columbus SL or SLX frames that have came through the garage. There is no stickers or rifling on the frame. The fork has rifling so I believe it is Columbus. The frame itself though weighs 3lbs 8oz on what has proven to be on an acurate digital hanging scale. The frames that I have weighed that were Columbus SL or SLX in the same size (give a 1/2 cm here or there) have all came in at over well over 4lbs.

So a 753 frame with Columbus fork perhaps? Maybe it is just wishful thinking. From the serial number it is believed to be an 88/89 Professional. The tubing may always be a mystery without any confirmation from Gita.

Look up Ceeway.com for the lugs. 753 chainstays did get a bad rep for a while, so don't blame Orbit.

Here's my contribution. 54cm Merckx Grand Prix. I bought this bike new in '91. Recently I changed out the components for a Record 10 speed group. It is a solid riding bike, very lively and stiff.
