Worth it the first time you avoid a ticket for no brake.

He actually posted a video of him using it to skid a while back too.

I have a 57 with a 28c tire and fender on the back, you should be fine.

Weird. That's actually an old design of theirs brought back from the dead. The velodrome here in Calgary has a bunch of ancient KHS loaners with that type of frame. Not sure if they have a sloping TT or not though.

New KHS looks terrible obviously. The old curvy seat tube looked ok

wait so having a jackass brake setup to avoid brakeless ticket is ok over having a proper brake setup to avoid a brakeless ticket????

i dont understand, cost would be the same. its simply ****ty placement of a brake lever and stupid rear only brake...... i just dont get it. it would have been just as easy to place the brake on the handle bar and used a front brake.

he probably doesn't want to run a brake on his aerospoke?
just a rear brake works fine, and it's his bike after all.

Maybe he is just making a statement for being forced to have a brake on the bike. A sort of compliant protest.

That would still leave the door open for a ticket.

I like the look of the new KHS. Don't see much of a difference between the old curved seat tube version, and the new one. New one has a sloping TT? Can't tell from the picture.

Wow I would ride the hell out of this thing minus the stem. This looks way sexier than the new one imo, I don't know why but I really like it.

Mine has been in transition for a few months now from my track ride into my training/all-arounder. It's pretty much done other than eventually the brake levers will be replaced with something more comfortable and the front wheel needs upgrading. A longer stem when I see one I like the looks and price of will also go on.

The stock fork has been replaced with a Surly Cross Check one so I could mount a wider tire and fender. I'd like to eventually replace the frame with a SS cyclocross of some sort.

From what I've seen so far only the Bianchi San Jose comes in the size I need with everything I want (120mm spaced track ends plus fender and rack mounts) but I don't dig the color and getting one locally and in my size will be problematic. This may be the kick in the ass I need to finally build a frame jig and learn to make frames myself.

Good job man I really like it in commuter mode. I need to start doing this to my Steamroller in the winter.

will the all city track cranks fit well on a 2012 flite? or would it cause the chain line to be off etc.

Hello all, long time reader first time poster. Just bought a Flite 100 of a guy for $250, love the feel of it. Just going to post this shot of it. They are quite rare in Australia. Going to change it up a bit (especially the stupid pedals and bar tape) so I'll post another pic when I'm done.

Haven't posted for a very long time. Thought I'd throw my "SST" KHS F100 up on here. That golden Fi'zi:k saddle doesn't look the best, but it sure is comfy.

Hi Everyone,
Any idea whether this 60cm KHS Flight 100, for sale for $150, is flip worthy in the NYC suburbs market? It’s too big for me but looks like-new and it’s so tempting. Any idea what the value would be in the spring?
Thanks in advance for any insight you may provide!

If you haven't yet been to the fixed gear NYC facebook group - go there. They love this bike...

Might as well keep this thread going.

10 year report on my KHS Flite 100 SS. I paid 180US for the frameset, and it was a bargain.

Very stiff frame. If I run cheapo tires, the ride is harsh for sure. The geometry is good, and the bike has a stable feel. With OS ("over sized") steel, and the lack of a sophisticated tubeset, it is the nature of the beast. Excellent paint. That being said, I am going to go with a more lively frame (parts swap) like an EAI Toyo Godzilla or something.
