Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

He already has two kids. I don’t think he wants any more.

In other new, years after I first wanted it, long-sleeved summer jerseys finally appear to be a thing. My newfound riding frequency means I keep running out, so I picked one up.

Very... odd. The guy that "dethroned" me while driving around in his car just "dethroned" me again... in his car, again. Looking at his rides over the past week, two have been legit with a Garmin Fenix showing HR - 17-18mph averages on bike paths... but then he's got *five* rides - uh, "rides" - in his car, four of which have already been flagged by others. What's the motivation? Pissed about full segment info going behind the pay wall?

I had a guy that I would sometimes ride with do something similar. I called him out on it, and he never talked me again. Might be a coincidence.

Indy loved them, then Georgia took that interest away. Indy seemed cool with it, but we're not going to let that happen this time. Share, or none. So far, it's share. Yeah, it's time to weed through again. Of course, you see the toy crate is way more better to gnaw on than any old toy...

Maybe, but that seems an odd way to go about expressing his anger. For the car rides, did you see if it was a case of not turning it off after the bike, or the whole thing was a ride? Is the Fenix new? It's possible he just got it (they were on sale very recently) and is used to recording from an Edge (or his phone) and is forgetting to turn the Fenix off.

Or yeah, he's a jerk.

No, it's not a case of a ride that needs to be trimmed - it's all car, no legitimate activity content whatsoever. Also, he stopped doing fake rides with his Fenix, which captures HR, and has recently done them exclusively with the iPhone app.

Strava has jumped the shark IMO and although I still use it to track my miles and see what friends are doing, I have stopped looking at segments entirely.

I’m using the first vacation time of the year the next couple of days. Woke up early enough to give me a decent ride but just wanted to relax for a bit.

Currently enjoying the (minimal) nice weather with a cup of coffee on the back porch. Then will help the 13 year old with his gaming PC build (the little guy has been saving for almost a year for it ), and then time for some garage cleaning and woodworking.

I really only look at segments to track my own efforts and monitor improvement.
