PSA: Acorn Bags restocking 4/1

As before, no affiliation. Like waiting on line for the newest Nikes or iPhones, helping y'all spend your hard-earned cash to get a leg up on fast-moving products.
Andy
------------------
Hi everyone,

All our GRAY WAXED CANVAS BAGS will be restocked—in limited quantities—this Thursday, April 1, at roughly 9am Pacific Time.

Due to unacceptable overseas shipping delays, we are currently only shipping to the U.S. and Canada. Please accept my apologies!

Please note:
  • At restocking time, you may need to refresh your browser to see the updated stock.
  • Sorry, no waiting or pre-order lists at this time—first come, first served.
  • Ordering questions answered here.

Thanks!,
Ron

P.S. My wife and I try our best to estimate demand...but sometimes we miss the mark and sell out early for a particular model. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause!

Thanks ascherer , without any buts. As a very satisfied Acorn bag user, I say well worth the hassle. I'm a bit upset that they seem to have dropped "Ranger Tan" which IMO is a beautiful natural color when waxed (sort of like hemp twine). But I don't see it offered by their supplier either, so that's probably the answer.

Many of us have found Acorn bags to be very much worth the hassle.

How is it a hassle that they sell out quickly? Seems pretty straightforward to me.

No product, no problem!
I like my old Acorn medium rando and new Basket bags a lot. Top quality and supports small business peoples.

Well worth the hassle! Since there isn't any hassle. Just go to the site and click buy. They'll either be sold out or they won't be! Love all of the ones I've owned.

It was super easy. I clicked add to cart, clicked checkout, and my phone auto loaded my cc info and shipping information. No hassle at all! I can't wait to put it to use!

I checked out their website and nothing to buy,

But then I remembered it's April 1.

bikemig The sell out that fast, probably mostly sold in 30 minutes. That's why I post the announcements, so folks have a shot at the mad rush ;-)

But if I missed out on the last couple of batches in my color, I'd be a little peeved that someone announced to the uniformed that the new batches were about to be offered.

While the bags look great and I don't doubt the many fans here, I find the mass drop business model really annoying. Lots of sellers are using it, too, from craft brewers to pottery studios to sneaker people. And hey, if the name of the game is to sell, and it works, I get it. But as a buyer, I won't go out of my way to try and jump in a tiny window when I can just go buy a different, equally satisfying product. Plenty of great options out there for bike bags.

I have stood in line to get in on exclusive beer drops for a family member who lives out of town. Wouldn't do it again.

I've missed out on the color I wanted from Acorn. Speaking for myself I would have appreciated a heads-up when they were going to be restocked. It doesn't feel right to me to keep info like that to myself, especially in this community. Maybe I'm off base but I find folks here are inclined to help each other out. I've been the recipient of generosity where someone here could have made money on *bay rather than gifting me. I don't think is is artificial scarcity. I understand Acorn to be essentially a home-based business that got lucky with a popular product line. I wouldn't compare them to a certain famous sneaker maker. I see people lined up outside a House of Hoops store in midtown Manhattan when that happens. More power to 'em. Many decades ago a friend slept on line for two nights to get a few of us second row seats to see the Grateful Dead at Radio City Music Hall. I'll be eternally in his debt.

I dig this Drop model and dig my matching saddle and handlebar bags which were purchased 8 or 10 years apart. I recently picked up a Drop Dan Durston X-mid 2P Ultra-light tent and just like the Acorn bags, there is no equally satisfying product: The design is unique, quality is top notch, and price is below market value. Now, waiting hours in line in the rain just for a chance to buy some known-to-be-delicious IPA that can't be had any other way??!! I'd do that too. But I will not post online where I can pick up a bottle or two of Pliny the Elder almost any Friday--Sorry.

I looked today when mostly sold out and realized they make a bag for the Wald front basket. I definitely would stand in a virtual line for that.
