Good ride reports, all. non-fixie , that cow must be standing on the most amount of elevation difference in all of your fine country.
I went out twice today. First for about an hour on the Motobecane. Then I extracted the Tommasini from the garage, pumped up the tires and went out again for about 15 minutes. The Tommasini is my only bike with 130mm rear spacing and a 7-spd cluster. A friend has given me a complete Ultegra 11-spd set but I haven't had time or motivation to install it.

Did a ride along the Dutch coast and into Zeeland province today. Lots of young animals around!
The Fausto Coppi didn't need help from this coastguard station.

The Ol' Church Road - look carefully and you can see the church spire atop the bell-tower in the distance
No fish but infested with the invasive American crayfish - a lobster trap will get dozens in an hour. Is that just a coincidence or does the crayfish wipe out other native fishery populations in the US as well?
Our village troll cunningly disguised as a beautiful swan. I asked what it was doing as it slyly approached the little bridge I was crossing over. It quipped "Can you help me find the Raleigh goose-neck I dropped here?" I pitta-patted away as fast as I could.

Sorry for your loss. I've never really gotten over a significant loss, but with time I find I start to look back with appreciation on the positive impacts the person (or pet) had on my life and how they shaped my perspective on the world. Hope you can find that state of contentment in time.

I am very much not into MTB's, but that is a sharp-looking machine you got there, fabiofarelli !
Mrs non-fixie and I went out as well, for a quick 20k spin after work. I decided to take the Austro-Daimler Inter-10, to see how it would compare to the Olympia Sport of the previous days. Pictured here at the one-car bridge at Bilderdam:
Apparently someone thought the town wasn't already nice enough, so they recently added a Piece of Art. A pair of skating hippopotami, no less. I rather like them:

Got out for 20 after getting away from work early. This was a shakedown ride after swapping to mini v brakes from cantis, 38mm tires from 32mm with fenders, triple 44/34/28 from double 46/30 and to a Ti Brooks B17 from the Berthoud Aravis.
My goal is to get fit enough for some longer mixed surface rides this summer/ fall. Last year was pretty much a wash after having Covid-19 and then an unrelated hospital stay for a really bad infection.
Hoping this season is more riding and less recuperating!

I rode into town today to pick up a bag from Swift Industries. This would be my longest ride on the big Expedition, at fifty five miles. It's a comfortable bike and 38 Gravelkings are a nice change from 25 Veloflex tires...
It is a portly beast, and dropping 4-5 pounds of stuff in the front bag added some to the front load. Also, I found a new favorite in friction shifters. 7402 Dura Ace set in friction mode might surpass Simplex, as my new go to.

Glad as always to post this thread, not sure ‘ride’ status...
.... really more of a short jaunt. But after Searching and lacking a substantial threat on Jaunts.... here it is. Hoping that around the corner and up to the nearest vineyard is sufficient jauntiness, especially as grower/winemaker is strong cyclist. And Yes, a jaunty fellow - who does not mind vintage bikes carefully photo’d admidst the crop.

Vines barely budding this mid-April day.
Plain Jane — AD Olympian 1980/81.
Given how much I like the ride, a brake upgrade over DiaCompe is in order, but I resist changing a good rider.
edit: sole babysitter for my 2yo grandaughter from her waking at 7am until naptime at 2pm limited my activities to new tire installs and jaunts in the afternoon.

One of my favorite spots in Portland. A stone’s throw from downtown, but feels really rural. One of those spots that got cut off by freeway construction, and stuck in time.
After descending about 1,000 ft in maybe a mile, I heard a loud “tink” and the front wheel got wobbly.
It’s a crappy CL wheelset, and it served the function of letting me get really fond of the Super Course, but time to go! Count the number of spoke brands on there!
Spoke head ended up somewhere in the blossoms.

Amazing light this time of year at dawn. The increasing pollution - as we come out of lock-down - does enhance the spectrum of colors on view. Nice for the view not so cool for the lungs or the planet.
Got a stick in the ear creeping thru the undergrowth for my troubles. My haste was driven by the fact I had to leave my bike beside the road unlocked.
The chisel plow , whilst defining the farming aesthetic, is placed there to stop Hare Courses illegally entering the field in their SUVs in pursuit of boxing hares with their unleashed greyhound blood-dogs.
Basically unattended 11 century church. Not many seeing the light of any sort in the 21st century. I blame the cunning troll I saw yesterday just down the way.

Today I explored new roads a little distant from my home. I drove to Orange, VA and rode north to just outside Culpeper. Generally a fairly flat ride, crossed the scenic Rapidan River, but was in a groove and didn’t stop for a pic. About halfway in between these towns, I came up on what I thought was an expansive estate, but turns out to be one of the more scenic prisons I’ve encountered. Coffeewood Correctional Facilty for Women.

Short ride on my newly repainted and rebuilt Fuji Stratos. My second repaint and total rebuild. I had this group set, Shimano 105, on my Zunow.
Never used bar end shifters before. It would be better if I cut about an inch from the ends of the bars but I could not bring myself to cut such nice GB rando bars.
Took this in a local wat near some family mausoleums.
