Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

cycling short pull on leggings

Like those cycling pull on sleeves for the arms - does anyone make / sell (length) short pull on leggings, just covering the knee?

Yes, lots. Much like the sleeves are called "arm warmers", the knee-covering things are generally called "knee warmers."

There are also longer versions called Leg Warmers.

Or just buy a good pair of knickers. I was hesitant to purchase a pair but after having to deal with gaps opening up in my knee/leg warmers, and getting irritated at the grippy band on my leg, I invested in a pair. For my money, night and day. I much prefer the comfort of a good pair of knickers. Of course you lose the ability to switch to shorts on the fly, but I found that once I put the knee warmers on I never took them off. So the ability to change it up on the road wasn't an issue for me.

Advantage most are lightly insulated, so they work great from 32-40F if you think tights are just too much. For me, it really has to be cold to go to a full length tight.

I’ve had lousy luck getting knee warmers to stay up. Bib knickers are my go-to when the weather cools

Knee warmers. These are good. I tuck them under the bottom bands of the shorts, never a gap.

That's weird. I have never had a pair of knee warmers slip down. How are you putting them on?

I probably have about half a dozen pairs of knee warmers in my cool weather bin. Castelli, LG, ChampSys, Voler, Hincapie. Every clothing maker has them.

Do you put the knee warmers under your shorts? I have about 7 or 8" of overlap between by knee warmers and bib shorts. Between the compression of the bib shorts and the actual knee warmer silicone gripper, those things have never moved in years.
