I'm going to be taking more photos, as I may be leaving the area and want to document some of the local places I've ridden during my tour of duty here.
I did not do any of that during my years back in New York and very little of it in Albuquerque. In retrospect, it seems a loss to not have done so. It may mean nothing to anyone but me but I will share them, nonetheless.

@Bad Lag I was there from 1978-1991. Family moved to Westlake Village when I was 5. I left in '91 to go to college and keep moving north--Santa Barbara, Oakland, Berkeley. I still have family there and love bringing a bike when I visit.
Good luck with the move! (I hate moving, though. It's always so much work).

Elephant Rock organized ride in Castle Rock (https://www.rollmassif.com/elephantrock/), 62 beautiful miles yesterday with the best man from my wedding (now lives up in Vail and we both have young kids so a rare treat). First ride on the Winter (turned all of Spring too) upgrades to my LeMond 650b. Focused more on chatting and enjoying the ride than pictures, just a few randoms while riding.
Don't tell anyone but this bike now has 10sp brifters on there, I might be banished to a new subforum.
Lots of tree lined roads
Green everywhere!
Nice white fenced horse properties (and a few donkeys and llamas)

Can't wait to be retired like @northbend. 4 yrs to go is my timeframe.
Finally got a shake down ride in on the Bianchi Veloce after it's run in with my F250. Rides quite nice and the drivetrain is pleasantly quiet. Not overly fast, but definitely comfortable. Had to pull my 25 yr old Bianchi jersey out of the drawer too.

Really lovely ride this morning.
I'm finally starting to explore a bit more around the area - today was up and around one of the Greenville Watershed reservoirs to the little town of Saluda NC. Nice and easy ~10 mile climb that seemed to average about 3-4% with a few steeper pitches as well as some flat and downhill sections to give you a breather.
Overcast and moody this morning gave way to partly cloudy skies towards the end.
Just a wonderful time on the bike this morning, I felt great and still can't believe this is my new backyard

Did 52 miles up north after work. Longer days = longer evening rides.
For part of the ride, I was on the trail the runs along the old electric North Shore Line. Lots of high-tension lines, but also beautiful prairie - smells fantastic!
Remains of an old RR bridge over hwy 41.

Photos from yesterday...Last day of school! Hoping to catch up on some mileage over the summer.
After work, I rode over to a colleague's house for an end-of-school-year party. Check out the view from her back balcony:
Then I took the long way home:

@thinktubes Padding for the chair legs. Helps them slide easier, plus it helps protect the flooring. Btw, those are also inner tubes wrapped around the legs--doubles as a foot rest and tension-reliever.

Got myself a 1986 Norco Bigfoot yesterday that is in amazing shape. Rode around downtown Toronto with some friends to celebrate a friend's birthday. Gotta say, for being 35 years old, this bike works amazingly well. A bit on the heavy side but a real joy to ride on. I can't upload pics yet but I will once I have enough post count.

I got in really pleasant almost 30 miles into the Berkeley/Oakland hills. It was a gorgeous day--sunny, light breeze, not too hot. This is one of my regular rides, but I haven't been riding regularly beyond my commute. So far, I've ridden every day this summer break. Okay, so it's two day in, but it's a start! Heading out of town, I stopped for a little Mondrian-on-Mondrian art appreciation.
Then I headed up into the hills. This is the view near the summit on Tunnel Rd., a gradual ~4.5 mile/1,000' climb from the Claremont Hotel.

Then I headed along the ridgeline (Skyline Rd.) into Oakland, and down the fun but narrow Butters Rd. descent.
Stopped by Temescal Park. I don't know when swim season is, but apparently it's not this part of June.

Then I made my way through campus on the way back home.
A little bit of the Campanile in the distance.

I rode out to Hodges, SC and back, with a side trip to Jackson Station, where back in the 80s I learned everything I know about electric blues guitar from Bob Margolin, Tinsley Ellis and especially Arhooly’s Max Drake.

Just a quick 16 or so miles out & back to Inspiration Point (a trailhead at the top of Wildcat Canyon in Berkeley Hills/Tilden Park) on the De Rosa. I had a blowout on this bike a while ago, and finally got around to putting on a new (old stock) Veloflex tubular yesterday. The shade of the Veloflex sidewall doesn't quite match the Vittoria front, but oh well.

Waterton Canyon
Nice ride up Waterton canyon this morning except for the mud (34m/1300’). It’s about 6 miles gradual uphill with no cars except Denver Water maintenance trucks. They’ve apparently been doing dust mitigation which must lead to extra sticky mud. Had to clear the rear fender on the way down at one point as even descending it was bringing me to a stop. Have to break out the hose before I put the LeMond away today…
MUP heading over
Balloon laid out on the ride out
Little connector road
Waterton
Again
Strontia Springs Dam
First dirt ride since getting new fenders on there
Mud building up
Chatfield Reservoir
Balloon now about ready to go on the way back

Yesterday's ride of about 33 miles covered 4 boroughs and 4 bridges: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx; Manhattan Bridge, Pulaski Bridge, Triboro Bridge, High Bridge. Coffee and snack at the cafe my son works at in Long Island City. It was a grey but lively day in the city.
Brooklyn Navy Cemetery Landscape Memorial Bench
The former Navy hospital cemetery is becoming a lush native landscape.
Partners Coffee, LIC. My son works here. I worked down the block 21 years ago. Let's say the neighborhood has changed...
Triboro (JFK) Bridge, Astoria side.
Hell Gate Bridge path on Randall's Island is short but sweet.
High Gate Bridge, former aqueduct providing fresh water to Manhattan. Looking south over the Major Deegan Expressway and Harlem River to the skyscrapers of midtown in the distance.
