What is the issue you are having? Not sure what the hole is for. Maybe threading the cable end in/out during cable installation/removal.

I had some Chorus levers like that and they would route either aero or non.

For the love of Merckx, don't plug the hole.

Not only is it for threading the cable in and out, it's for your hex key to access the clamp bolt if you ever need to remove/adjust/install them.

He's missing the special Campy plug - which is probably a good thing, because the Campy plug-removal tool is NLA.

Visit your local auto parts store. They should have racks of plugs for body panels and other places on cars. A bit of guess work as you cannot really tell the fit until you purchase and open the package, but you may find a black or white plastic press fit plug that would do the job.

Or take a sharp knife and whittle a plug from a piece of white cork. Better yet, a champagne cork. Puts some fizz in your ride. I'd try that. Sort of like the wooden plugs cabinet makers use to cover sunk screw heads.

Don't recall the mid 90's brakes having a plug in that hole. It has been a while.

Now I know...

I picked up a bag of crap with a free ROSS bike (damaged frame).
I stripped the Campy bits tossed the frame.
The were some dirty little rubber plugs in several sizes. Is this the stuff ?

Binky .

I think those were the Corsa Record era shipment retainers- no more blue chipboard retainers.

I do not think the hole in the upper forward portion of the lever was designed to be filled.
not big enough in diameter to take a Campagnolo T wrench socket.

Thanks again for all the responses

Really appreciate it

Was trying to get a "finished" look with a removable thumb style plug.

I'll visit the auto parts store and the bike shop

Thanks again
