I do like how nice it rides in spite of the cheap components. One of these days I will get around to treating it to an upgrade. But will leave the Marlboro sticker just for the irony of a cigarette company giving away bicycles.

It was a nice day, so my friends decided to take their boat to Rock Hall. We brought our folders.

Bikes didn't need to be folded to fit on the back deck.

Probably did four miles total, small town, but visited shops, had lunch.

Giving the bikes a rest.

Great day, we plan to visit most of the bike friendly Chesapeake Bay towns.

I always enjoyed sailing into Rock Hall. If you ever tie up anywhere on Kent Island, there is a nice bike trail system there.

End of the Line

Carkeek Park, north of Seattle.

Surprisingly few bikes, although it's a dead end at the bottom of a steep ravine/park.

Zenit relaxing into its role of farm bike

I have since swopped the original gear lever for a cheap Shimano thumb lever on the handlebar, because it was easy to hit that lever with your knee and make an unwanted gear change.

Good eye! That's exactly where this is - Shanghai Jiaotong University's Minhang campus gate.

Yes, near Lupu Bridge. Air quality here has improved significantly over the last few years, particularly in the summer, so nice clear days have become much more common.

This is good to hear! I worked during the winter of 2015/16 in the industrial suburb of Jiading (nominally part of Shanghai), commuting by bike from the center. I thought it was the closest you could get to hell outside of a war zone. It was common for the smog to be so dense that you could not see the other side of the 2-lane road that led to my workplace. The smog had a sulfuric acidic taste. When going back in the evening, I moved in a complete overwhelming darkness with an occasional penetrating light glow. Most often that glow turned into flames when up close, from leaves and branches burnt by the side of the road by people cleaning the road shoulders!. Then the light disappeared and the darkness was going down on you again. Certainly it was not good for health, but I thought I could afford that first-hand experience during the time I was there.

Warsaw, Poland, Stairway to Heaven.

Constant police presence is there because this is a frequent location for various pro-democracy demonstrations and drunk people try to climb the structure too. The official name is the Smolensk Air Disaster Monument. In the air accident a number of Polish government officials and military officers perished, including a friend of ours. Yes, there was an Air Disasters installment on this.

Ah Warszawa, city of the boring square and park right in its centre

I recommend the square in the MDM district, for its excellent Communist era backdrops.
