Mystery Crankset
Hi folks,
Does anyone recognize this crankset? It's on a Schwinn Le Tour, number on head badge is 60639. Small label on inside of pedal end of arm, RR3CCB175.
The crank arm bolts are strange. The inner is a 8mm Allen socket & the outer is a 10mm Allen socket with a "gear" like image on it.

That is a strange one, that I've never seen on a Letour.
Not that it will help your ID, but I believe the head badge number you've provided has one too many digits.

Hello again,
A bit more info. Yep, the HB number is correct. This is a real Franken bike. It has an Altus front derailleur, DeerHead RD & Suntour Accushift bar ends. The crankset has a 130 BCD. Possibly only the FD is original.
Now, how do I get the damn thing off?

I don't know but I bet the cap comes off with the big hex and the bolt comes off with the small one.
Easy enough to find out; however if the cap is really an outer bearing for a flanged bolt so it self-extracts, it (should be) left-hand thread; so do the same as you would do for an unknown fixed cup - go each way, trying a little harder each time. If it's left, snug it back down and use the inner one.

60639 is the zip code in Chicago where Schwinn was located. Is the crank length 175 mm? Looks newish...

Pretty sure that's a Truvativ/Sram crankest of some sort. I had a polished triple on an old Cannondale and I thought was a purdy looking crank for a mid level crankset. They came in both cartridge style bb and external bearing bb.

Self-extracting bolts, so leave the larger 10mm alone(!) and just unscrew the inner 8mm bolt to pull the arms off.
These usually come off without much effort since the taper fit bottoms on a ledge instead of wedging ever tighter.

Hi folks,
Mystery solved! The crankset is a Truvative or at least the BB is. Once I figured out how the self extracting bolts, the arms came off easily, but had to take it to the co-op to get the BB out. Thanks again for your feedback.
