What I Pack For Bikepacking Adventures
Hey folk, I'm gearing up for a winter bikepacking trip and I wanted to share the gear I use and the bike I pack it out. What do some of you pack for winter bike touring or bikepacking adventures?

If you flip your stem upside down, you can move some of the spacers from above to below the stem. It is strictly an aesthetic thing, no change in performance. It only results in less steerer tube above the stem.

Good use of compression sacks. We also use Sea to Summit. Everything made of cloth goes in a compression sack, the smallest sack into which it will fit. Another tip for the gentle reader: We've always used down bags when we backpack. No matter the insulation though, you don't need any underneath you, only on the top and sides. One's weight crushes bottom insulation into uselessness. Feathered Friends, a Seattle gear store had a rectangular down bag which zipped to a flocked Nylon sheet, thus making a nice double bag. The under-sheet has pockets for two sleeping pads - we use Thermarest NeoAir in them. This system makes a big difference in weight and volume. Big Agnes has similar bags and pads.
