front derailleur limit screws not working
Have a new front derailleur. Not seeing any movement in the standing derailleur no matter how I adjust the low limit bolt. Tried adjusting the high limit as well thinking it might be set too far in one direction for the low to be adjusted but still no movement in the standing setting.
Any tips or tricks?

The limit screws will not move anything unless the derailleur is against one of the stops.

Undo your cable and set the low (L) limit first on the front DER, make sure your control is in low (1) and then re-affix the cable, then check your upper limit (H) as you move the control to the larger (largest) gear.

You need to understand a LIMIT screw only prevents over travel of the DER so it doesn't go too far.
H keeps it from going off the Big ring and L keeps it from going off the small ring.
They have noting to do with indexing.
IF your FDER won't move, it's because you have the Limit Screws turned in too far.
Move the DER by hand to insure you have travel.
