MTB groupsets from China (ebay)
Hello,
I'm building a new MTB (for xc) and in the market for a groupset. It's a Specialized Chisel (HT 29" aluminum) with Fox Factory 32, Hunt wheels. I want to assemble it with M8000 XT 11-speed since I have two road bikes and one TT bike that would use the same chain. Lo and behold, it's hard to find complete group purchases anymore since it's so old.
Does anyone have any experience purchasing from Chinese vendors on Ebay, specifically "riding_is_life"? Any reason to think they might be counterfeit?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/12225990531...evt=1&mkcid=28
On a separate question, I know my frameset is BSA, but I'm confused by all the BB standards these days. Can I run a BSA DUB BB and crank on my frame? It would be nice to get a light carbon crank.

If buying from China scares you, you can purchase all the parts separately here in the U.S.. You don't have to buy as a groupset.
Parts are available.

What's your opinion on the link above, or buying from China in general? I've purchased some carbon components (handlebars et) from generic carbon MFGs in China off Alibaba and I haven't broken any teeth yet. My primary concern is counterfeit components.

The seller appears to have positive feedback. So I guess he's got that going for him.
The one and only time I bought something from China on e-bay I got scammed. Made the purchase and never received the product. Had to open a case with E-bay and eventually got my money refunded after a few weeks.

Got pissed trying to find a full group, ended up just going w separate parts. So I'll lose a bit of value there but w/e. Buying the M8000 brakes used, will just add new pads. The rest will be new.

Back when the UK gray market sites were selling "full groupsets" they had configurators on their websites. But lots of things were often sold out (like prebled brakes for right hand rear).
The last brakes I bought were OEM scratch and dent from Taiwan. Exactly as described.

I have purchased groupsets from eBay Chinese vendors a couple of times and had no issues beyond the parts coming wrapped in the instruction books rather than in boxes. The shipping took a while but what doesn't these days.
