1951 Peugeot Mixte touring bike

1951 Peugeot 26" Mixte frame touring bike. Carefully and accurately restored from its undamaged, original condition (in dry storage 35 years). Original white tires. Original accessories: rear rack, canvas panniers, tool bag, generator lights front and rear, pump and lock. Bike was bought new in Luxembourg and came over on a steamer in 1952. Lovely visual addition to any car, bicycle or motorcycle collection. Tail light lens is missing a piece, which is the only flaw on the bike. $1,850 plus shipping (I will pack, insure and arrange transport).

For that price should at least have correct derailleur. (see the two empty holes in bracket below chainstay)
Would not want to spend the time finding all the other errors. Easier to start with a cheap rescue bike and get it right first time.
Someone did a lot of work on the lining and other paint details but it looks like a 2020 automotive paint job.

This cycle was re-introduced shortly after France was in recovery from the War...while the possibility of finding one in America is quite remote... I don't know what it would cost for air or ocean shipment to bring one in from Europe now...perhaps that's why the price seems high.
One would think that the asking price is negotiable.
