Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Can't imagine the aero penalty. Hope it doesn't get stuck in the fork legs.

I really have no experience with fwd on a bent. I do know that they can slip a little on steep hills. I also know that the Cruzbike machines are pretty fast and have set some solo speed records over long distances. Have a look at Cruzbike.com

While waiting for the ambulance one of our riders got the kid's info (he's 18) and the kid called his mother who showed up to rail against us taking her son's info, saying her son would "never ride in the wrong lane".
Today I saw the group again and they said a rider got clear video of the whole thing and it shows the kid was to his left of the lane we were in, he couldn't have screwed it up any worse if he had tried. I don't know if any of that matters. The poor guy who went down needs to have his nose reconstructed.
Thats horrible. I hate the bike paths, especially now with all the newbs.

My brothers and I rebuilt/reconfigured my parents deck today. It used to go around one end of a oval shaped pool, and extended over to the privacy fence between the lots.
we squared off the pool end and made it flush to the end of the house. Cleaned up all the railings and added a gate to one end and steps. Replaced a bunch of boards.
I haven't put on a tool belt in almost 9 years. I still got it. And now I'm paying for it. I hurt everywhere. Lol. Getting old sucks.

I know the hill and it's nasty. Add in constant straight 50+ mph descents and it turns a little dangerous.

A few days ago someone here posted a link to a cycling site. The next time I go to BookFace I see an ad from the same site.

Cool.

My worst crash ever was on a bike path near the beach. The sad thing about this one is it's a network of paths you can use to get around the town and they were always pretty safe until Corona. Now it's a circus in places.

The last time I crashed was on an MUP. I was HTFU riding after a Knoxville snowstorm. The roads had been plowed, but the MUP was not. I was doing OK on the snow, but then hit an ice patch.

Winter is dumb.

The worst on the MUP I use are the crews going 2-abreast and taking up way too much of the width. The newbs are mostly solo or ride far enough apart to be easy to pass.

We don’t have these MUP issues where I live. We solved the problem by not having them.
