Just learned that the 17 year old son of a couple I have known for a long time through the Philly bike club was hit by a car and killed the other day. He had just graduated high school and was a member of the school’s MTB team. I can’t imagine what his parents are experiencing.

i went for a walk, and people drive crazy here. I’m sure there are some good back roads to ride but from what I have seen, I would be worried about getting hit by a car. This is my second day here and I havnt seen one cyclist in the area that I am.

Slacker. I'm still getting warnings from my watch in the middle of the night every time I stay below 40 bpm for over 10 minutes at a stretch - sometimes 4-5x per night.

Tremendous backroads for riding. Small lanes and rolling.

I can't believe that you guys made me go to the shop and pull this off the peg board. It's a little-used Lapize with the red "pull" end. You can tell a "serious" cyclist used it because of the twist in the bottom of the strap. Lapize was a lower quality but an old traditional company.
BTW, I'm trying to eschew my C&V status but you guys keep exposing it.

I do admit my pulse is currently in the low 50s because I rode 46 miles today. Had to sneak that in.

Huge turnout for tonight’s memorial ride, despite the heat index. Hundreds of people, and a police escort for the open road portion.
