Another contender for optimist of the year awards ...

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

1st rule of ebay: Don't price your auction starting bid (plus shipping) for the old model above the buy it now price for the new model.

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Hint: It may cause you to not get any bids.

I guess that I should stop throwing away the old rusted steel bike parts that I sometimes have, and post them on ebay.

I was thinking the same thing Thirdgenbird. There are plenty of 80's Cannondales, and Vitus framed bikes out there still doing admirable service for their owners. 5 years? Psh...
20 years, maybe.

Apparently there are people who are too snooty to realize that bike frames can be made out of something other than steel and be perfectly fine.

I'd actually consider buying that bike if it were around here. I'd put that rack and fenders on something and resell the rest of the bike. $125 is a bit pricey, but not too much.

Another "ambitious" Peugeot, this one listed as "1971-72 Bronze Peugeot PX-10 - $1000 (San Francisco)".
https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/bik/1551399773.html

$1000 may sound like a lot, but it does include stem shifters, dork disk, rat trap pedals, and a frame without the slightest hint of PX-10 chrome:

That one has to be a joke on the others selling UO-8's for $1,000.
