In addition to the ones you posted, there are a couple newer Lemonds and another Cannondale (2005 with Ultegra for $450!?!?!), all at pretty reasonable prices. Would NEVER see that around here.
The lower priced STI bikes are a relatively new to the local CL. Perhaps the economy is hitting us hard as Tampa's unemployment rate is above 10%.

For the end user there's some some good deals.

Paramount in Southern Oregon

https://medford.craigslist.org/bik/1293199337.html

A word of caution to any out of state buyers (which the owner says there are few interested). I looked at this bike today, and although still pretty nice and not horribly overpriced it does have some problems that owner (who plays completely dumb) will not tell you about.

1. It's not a touring model, and does not have a triple crank or bar-ends (although he told me it did over the phone).

2. It has been "touched up" with spray paint along the whole top-tube and upper fork legs. And by "touch up" I mean completely re-painted in this instance. I could not figure out why the paint looked "wrong" to me as the down-tube still has the original paint and decals but the finish was obviously wrong in other spots. After pressing the owner he finally said he may have "touched it up a little". Not sure why a bike that supposedly was only ridden a few times then hung up for 26 years would need that amount of touch up? Again, this guy does not "remember" anything.

3. It has the obligatory clamp-on kickstand that has probably left some damage to the stays but he would not let me remove it to check.

Anyway, it looks like a mid 70's model (I did not write down the serial number). About a 22". The Campy stuff is all present and in good shape. Original Weinmann 27" rims. Short Cinelli 1A and Mod 64 bars. And a clean Unicanitor "buffalo" saddle. Still not a bad deal for an end user. But with shipping, not so great and the paint would be a big dissapointment if you did not know about it.

If it had nice original paint or had been a racer with a Campy brakeset I would have bought it for his asking price. But as it was, it was a total waste of a couple of hours and half a tank of gas to look at it.

GIGANTIC MOTOBECANE RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!

Motobecane Grand Touring Racing Bike 10 Speed Bicycle - $100 (near MenomoneFalls/Germantown in Colgate)

Motobecane made in France. Light weight, tall frame measures almost 35 inches high. Wheels are about 25 inches in diameter. Pedals have foot restraints that prevent slipping, but your feet will easily come out in an emergency. Rides great, but it is a little dusty from sitting in storage for many years. I am more into mountain biking now.

That Motobecane was a nice bike. Motobecane had a flair for making their bikes look nice, too.

I had a boss who called it "motor beer can," not for any derogatory reason.

I re-read that description a few times and can't figure out what he's trying to say. But the bike for sale has fender eyelets and I doubt that would be a true team bike.

I don't think he makes any claim it's the bike depicted in the photo, simply that it's a former team bike: "This bike come from of the Boston - Mavic Van Impe team." But, yes I agree, the eyelets struck me as odd.

Is the shipping on that bike really $250? It is coming from France, but wow!

I say that Boston will go up to $600.

That Bruce Gordon is way underpriced.

I have a freind who has about 85 bikes that her father was collecting and he passed away. she is looking to sell entire lot for 300 dollars or come pick and chose for 10 dollars each. these bikes are all older and almost every bike needs repaired in some way, please email me at robert.wayne.taylor@us.army.mil or call me at 724-664-3778 and if your interested i will hook you up with her. there are about 30 each 20inch bikes and the rest are all old larger frame. none of them have tanks or are very expencive bikes that people are looking for, so if thats what you want dont bother calling. if someone just wants a cheep bike to fix up give me a call these bikes need to go and 10 dollars each is a great price. thanks bob.
