I wonder what the story about a heavy smoker doing inside the story about ozone.

Anyway, looking at the tires, I see "1618" hot stamped in the sidewall. Everything else is moulded in. No way for me to know for sure, but taking into account European date style, 1618 may represent June 1, 2018.
Can you post pics of the cracking on your tires?

Here's what I got from some Michelin Pro4Es.. 2-3 of these ended up this way; nowhere near wearing thru the tread. Switched brands.

If you're able to see them in the photo, the few white threads hanging from the cracks is the tire cord.

In addition to being exposed to ozone, chemicals, etc., mentioned already it would be good to know the production date of your tires. Tells how to find the date here. https://www.continental-tires.com/bi...e-construction

Thanks for the photo. It makes me think of dual compound tires. I haven't kept up with tire tech in a while, but I remember some tires were made with a harder compound down the middle with a softer compound on the sides.

Cool info, but that code is nowhere to be found on my tires. Maybe someone else with GP 4000S II's can check to see if that is present.
