Marathon 420 tire width
Due to a broken spoke and crack in rim I needed to replace the OE wheel with a Velocity Dyda. I use Schwalbe Marathon 420 700c x 35mm. My frame clearance with that tire and rim is now minimal. I can see daylight between tire and frame but that feels too close for comfort if the rim should warp due to pot hole, broken spoke etc. I measure the inflated tire and it’s 35mm wide. Are the 32mm version of same tire just as accurate in size width wise. Does anyone know? I don’t have many options.
The tandem is a 1996 Cannondale RT2000.

And the answer is: At its 95lb limit on the Dyad 700c 19 interior rim ( I actually measured 18.46) the Schwalbe 420 Marathon 700c x 32mm is 32.5mm wide. This will give my tandem much needed breathing room between the chain stays. I have mounted but not yet ridden. I will check in when I do.
