Knee Problems with Peloton

Hello,

Sorry, I tried searching for this and got some suggestions, but none of the questions 100% applied to me. I bought a Peloton and fitted as suggested in the setup, first ever time spinning. When I try to use it in the morning first thing my knees tend to have pressure build up in them and then I need to unclip to shoes and shake them out and try to get it to pop. This only happens in the morning. It lasts for like 10-15 mins so I assume it is just a wake up thing, but when I was going running or walking or even just normal daily morning activities I never have experienced this to such a degree. I assume it has to do with using the bike right after I wake up, but was wondering if there were any suggestions or stretches I could do prior to getting on?

Thanks,

Welcome to the forum. I have patella tracking issues with my right knee, which sounds like what you are experiencing. I'm not sure why it would only happen in the morning for you though.

Peloton pedals are 3 bolt? Are your cleats aligned correctly with your knees so that you’re not fighting the shoe and putting pressure on your knee? You should be able to point the cleat slightly to the left or right, many shoes have a position gird to help with alignment.

Hop on the bike and warm up for a while.
Then pay attention to each shoe, is the shoe in the middle of the cleat float.
or
Is the shoe forced to the end of the float?
If forced to the end of the float your knee is getting tweeked.
You can twist the cleat on the shoe to correct.

During assembly my left leg was attached crooked. Warranty is seriously expired.
Knee pain was so bad I could not bike back to back days.
A professional bike fit found and corrected the issue for me.

My guess is that your saddle is too low. The "rule" is: knee pain in front, raise saddle. Knee pain in back, lower saddle. Besides that, try going back and forth from sitting to standing every few minutes to start with, to warm up your legs and knees.
