Last time my wife and I were in Key West, we rented beach cruisers for a couple of days and enjoyed cruising the coastline and neighborhoods. Since they aren’t meant for speed, they were the ideal way to explore, take our time and enjoy a completely different cycling experience. Can’t say the tractor-like seat was the most comfortable but it sure was better than standing. Slow and relaxed has its place.
Edit: My wife and I usually ride 18-20+ MPH on the flats, so 5-6 MPH was quite the change.

That's definitely not a "woosh." Obviously , no one thought the bit about who was passing you was serious, we have no way of knowing whether or not 5 mph is a real number, nor whether you really have that sentiment about cruisers. We still don't.
You posted some sarcastic remarks about cruisers and how slow they are, people have responded with why they like them and examples of people riding them fast. Who exactly do you think has missed the point?

What a horrific experience. I pedalled my guts out just to maintain a brisk 4.93 MPH. A toddler on a tricycle smoked me on the bikepath and a septuagenarian on crutches staked by, cackling as she left me in her dust. I was moving so slowly I could hear rocks eroding.

A dozen or so years ago I bought an early 50's Schwinn cruiser from a flea market. It was the kind with the old skip-tooth drive line, painted wheels, and a hard vinyl seat with springs. Being younger, dumb, and adventurous, I decided to do a century (miles) on this bike. It was a long, slow, all-day ride, but the bike made it, despite wearing old, cracked Goodyear tires which had likely been on the bike since Eisenhower was president. A cruiser is perfectly fine for riding in flat areas with rough pavements or dirt roads, and any bike is better than no bike at all.
