Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I ride by tens of horse farms every time I go out, they don't smell.

If mine, are you bein' funny? It's the Rapha Pro Training Jersey that I picked up in NYC the other day. This was the first ride in it - love it, worth the extra 30 bucks over the Core, though it doesn't have the little zipped pocket, which is a bummer.

I don't think the placement of the tank matters much on modern cars. I don't like the idea of servicing the fuel pump through a hole in the floor, though.

Fortunately just an irritated throat, but no visible sting, stinger, or swelling.

Someone else will be taking the podium this week though. #prolly

Nasty!

Got three stings from an unidentified Hymenoptera on my left tit on Thursday. Hurt like the devil, but still better than the 2-week itching agony of the oak mites.

You guys all get covid and lose your sense of smell or what?

Maybe you just don't get that close to the stables...

I rarely get a whiff of these guys cuz the stables are over 500' off of the MUP, even though there are often a couple horses up near the MUP.

These horsies on the other hand, unless there's a pretty good breeze blowing out of the west, you'll get some aroma. If the air is thick and still and they haven't shovelled out the stalls recently, I almost throw up in my mouth a little bit sometimes. Of course they have 10 horses on a half acre, which sure doesn't help.

Horse manure smells far less than cow or dog or cat. It’s not even close. Maybe city folks will be offended regardless, but it shouldn’t be all that foul.

It's the piss that smells the worst, IMO.

Cow **** doesn't really smell that bad either, but feed lots smell bad.

I've read tales of folks cutting holes in the floor of minivans like mine to get to the fuel pump because they didn't want to have to drop the fuel tank to get to it. Pretty crazy.

If John Denver’s plane was set up like this instead of behind his head we would have many more albums.

Anybody have any fitbit knowledge they would like to drop?

My charge 4 went blank last night. It was an effort to make me miss my ride with Whyfi.
Anywho, I’ve tried everything the manual says and I can’t get the screen back on. I know it’s still “alive” becuase when I plug it in it vibrates. But it won’t do anything else or connect to my phone.

I've got a Versa 2 that sometimes seems dead. I have to hold the button for at least 15 seconds which restarts it.

People do a lot of crazy stuff working on their own cars. I had a pick-up towed in where the guy had used a circular saw of some kind to cut a hole in the bed and then duct taped the piece back down. It still wouldn't run so he towed it to me without revealing what he had done.

When the fuel pump won't pump we bang on the tank with a mallet to see if we can get it started. When I hit this guys tank I could see the fuel pump module jumping up and banging into the trap door he made. He wasn't able to reinstall the lock ring. But when I dropped the tank and took it apart I found why it wouldn't run. He had cut the bonded plastic lines off of the original pump and put in some aftermarket thing with hose clamps. $900 later he was on his way.

Some of our pump modules come with a redesigned connector which you must splice into the harness in place of the old connector. This provides ample opportunity for the home mechanic to require a tow to the dealer after his repair. They sometimes run the 12v to the level sensor or just hook up the fuel pump backward. It's weird the first time you go to check fuel pressure and there is suction instead of pressure.

Tried that. Its silly, on my the button isn’t really a button in the sense you can’t see it. It senses pressure and functions like a button. So now that the screen is blank I don’t know if that part is even functioning.

Broke in my Core jersey on Saturday. Ove it. Had no idea about the zipped pocket until then. Nice feature.
