Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2010 caad9 content inside

Just got my new frame/fork in, I'm stoked on the new paint and premium fork..
I wish I had a set of SI-SL cranks to go with this.
I'll be throwing 2009 campy centaur 10, the edge 68s, and some assorted bits on this tomorrow.

more to come.

Nice. Looking at a 2010 CAAD9 myself (complete). Did you get the frameset retail, or as some sort of discount/team deal? I'm curious about what it retails for.

So whats the deal with "handmade in the usa." I don't follow cannondale much but I was under the impression they moved their frame building overseas for 2010.

Most of their frames are made overseas, but, at least for 2010, the caad9 is still made in USA. This will probably change in the near future.

That is a beautiful looking bike! I tested the CAAD9 several times and really want to like the bike. I love the look, the fact that it's one of the last reasonably priced bikes made in the US and the reputation of the bike among racers. When I tested it last year, I was new to cycling and did not own a road bike. Traveled to the closest C'dale dealer (in Hinsdale, IL) and rode the one they had in my size (it actually belonged to the salesperson at the store). The bike was beautiful looking and very sexy but I could not get over the rough ride. I didn't think to check the tire pressure (maybe it was too high) or the setup (which was not set up for me) and the parking and street was very bumpy, so maybe it wasn't a fair test.

After several hundred miles, I'm going back to the shop to look at this bike again, before all of the US made versions are gone. Thanks for the inspiration! i look forward to following your thread.

Yep, I pressed the aluminum sleeve in that cannondale supplies. I used the campy conversion cups on my cross bike to convert from bb30, they worked well but were $40.
I REALLY can't wait to get a bb30 crankset in the future.

Here is a past press release:
"Bedford's manufacturing operations will be fully outsourced by 2010. Headcount at Bedford will be reduced from the current 300 employees to approximately 100 by the end of 2010."

OK, so to me this sounds like the 2010 model year is it.
