Going to naples florida for a week tomorrow so excited, even though most of the days have lows in the 40's ad mid 30's plus some rain. But it's better than 25 degree high.

Wimps. Did 49mi. this morning. The snow flurries started about 5mi. in. Once I turned N-NE the headwind was a bear and froze me to the point where I had no power left. Froze my bottle of Powerade solid. Rode the tailwind home and took a 30 minute shower to thaw out.

2h this morning w 80 min of tempo in beatiful sunny San Diego to rev things up after a rest week with an incredible amount of food an alcohol ('tis the season...)
Felt like a million bucks. Had to hold my self back many times so as to not wear my self out.
It was about 60F and sunny. After spending 5+ years in Humboldt Co. it was almost too warm for my preferences. I was the only one I saw out on the road that wasn't in long sleeves. It always cracks me up when I come home to see people bust out the neoprene at 60F

I posted this in the Training Fail thread but apparently its not a thread about failing to do your workouts..go figure.
I rolled out at 29*..got home it was 37*.
My workout was:
30m warm up
60m SST
30m low tempo
30m at FTP
15m recover
30m FTP
15m recover
60m at high tempo with the last 30m mixed with some hard efforts on the hills.
I failed. After the last 30m FTP effort I my legs just hurt. I'm going to blame it on my inconsistent training in December but it could have been the cold..my feet are still numb as is my nose.
2671 kj
247 TSS.
That TSS should have been over 300 and my kj should have been over 3000.

Yeah, it's obvious he hates you and is just trying to find out where your fitness is right now.

3:15 of mostly Z2 on the cross bike on a dirt trail. Opened it up for a bit for the first time in awhile and felt pretty strong after 2 rest days. Another 3hrs tomorrow but this will be on the trainer, since there is nearly a foot of snow on the ground already. Another 3 weeks of base and then time to up the intensity.

4.5 hours up Palomar and back. Rode with some strong friends so I spent a lot of time riding tempo, but it was smooth and controlled.

Did a 30 min test today and I beat my PB by 21 watts. That also resulted in a new 20 min record for me. This past season I hovered around the 3.4 - 3.5 w/kg for 20 min power. Today I was at 3.8 w/kg. Getting closer to my goal of 4.0 w/kg

Nonetheless, bravo. There was a window at 10:30am when it died down and I thought about it. But, it was coming down hard again by about 11:30, so, I am glad I did the trainer for 90' (in front of a screen for the first time -- I liked it).

Are you sure that wasn't the whole week's training schedule? It looks like at least three days worth of time crunched training.

Big props man!!! You're going to murder this season.
Training status: off last 2 days, I slept about 12 hrs today, and think im rested enough to start training again tomorrow. My coach isn't caught up with my schedule yet, which means I can do whatever i want. It's been a month since my last FTP test, so i might do a 20' test followed by endurance. looking for 3-4 hrs total

Passed on a three hour team ride in order to ride to the park with my daughter -- Santa brought her a new bike and she wanted to try it out. I may be a Cat 3 racer, but I'm working on my Cat 1 Dad upgrade.
