Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It's hard, especially in a low-carb, health-conscious, household. I have to consciously remind myself to eat several times a day.

You are not required to tell her everything.

But, not sure how you'd explain the belching otherwise.

I don't count calories. I doubt I go much over 2000 most days. After I lost those 14 pounds almost a year ago, I've been holding steady in the 170-172 range without trying. One of these days i'm gonna shoot for 166.

Chipotle is good. As you might expect we are surrounded by very good Mexican food. Probably 30% of our meals are some variant of Mexican utilizing grilled chicken or fish. There are a lot of healthier options - not all of it is cheese enchiladas and refried beans although the unhealthy options are very tasty. The killer is the pre-meal basket of chips. Usually have to tell the waiter no gracias on those.

I'm struggling with it. Yesterday I went on a football-induced culinary rampage - 700 calories in snacks, including tortilla chips, peanuts, a beer and pistachios. Still only totaled 1,700 calories for the whole day.

My biggest downfall is snacking, which is a consequence of being a night owl. If I went to bed earlier, I'd eat less, plus I'd also probably recover better. But I get sucked into starting to watch movies after 10 PM. And I still have to get up in the morning...

I also enjoy Culvers but the local franchise stopped giving free ice cream for dogs at the drive through (even though I was ordering regular meals so it wasn't exactly free) so I stopped going because Dairy Queen and Sonic still have ice cream for dogs. It's a fun treat for them.

Not unremarkable at all. These two came from there.

I'm not sure where you're coming from. You're quoting my base metabolic rate of 2,500 calories - that's what I burn sitting on my ass in the winter.
