Replacing Nuvinci gear hub with derailleur?

Hello,

I'd like to remove the Harmony + Nuvinci N330 on a cargo trike with disk brakes front+rear, and replace it with a plain 3-8 speed derailleur.

I've never done this before.

1. Does any derailleur fit that kind of drop-outs on the frame?

2. Its handlebar is the basic "single bar" model. Are "revoshift" shifters available for all derailleurs? If not, can I use some extra contraption to install it?

Thank you.

First, what is the dropout spacing (Over Locknut Dimension - OLD)? Aluminium frames don't like to be bent to match the hub so you need to find a hub that matches the frame. Most disk-brake compatible hubs with axles that will fit that bike have an OLD of 135mm. If that's the spacing of your frame then you just need a wheel with that size of hub.

Second, you need to find a 'claw' style derailleur hanger, or a derailleur with a built in derailleur hanger, which are often the inexpensive style.

You also need a front derailleur and triple crankset, although there are frame designs where mounting these might not be straightforward.

I don't know about 'Revoshift' in particular, but you can definitely get 'gripshifters' to match your drivetrain. Sram makes those.

It's 135mm.

There's no need for a front derailleur since it has a Bafang mid-drive.

I'll read up on those types of derailleurs and shifters.

Thank you.

The cranks get stuck when the user rides uphill. Turning the motor off and on doesn't solve the problem. Enviolo says the N330 isn't a good choice for use "with a powerful motor" (it's just a 250W Bafang Max Drive).

So we'lll just remove that thingie and see it solves the problem.
