Wow, who knew that pedestrians needed to look before crossing the street? Hell, I look both ways when I cross a one way street.

1. Stop signs won't make a difference if placed there.
2. The white truck isn't on the sidewalk and is not some obnoxious pavement princess.
3. That type of situation could happen regardless. The building creates a blind spot for pedestrians walking cross that space as well. I have very nearly been hit by cars doing that exact same thing when there is zero visibility issue for pedestrian or driver. The driver coming out of an alley or large parking lot will just drive through way too fast and only look left for oncoming traffic before turning right.
4. There needs to be some engineering of the road or some way to stop through traffic from going through that zone so fast .. or to re-direct it.
Pick your battles. There are far worse problems with American roads, including the one in your video.

The white truck could have easily pulled forward a bit to completely mitigate the visibility hazard. As it sits in the video it encroaches onto the sidewalk, which I imagine is against municipal ordinance though I don't think it would be a high enforcement priority. Best solution is for pedestrians and alley travelers to exercise prudence when approaching the intersection. Good luck on your quest for improvement.

While I see your point your video makes a point for doing nothing. You were careful in your approach and that was the correct thing to do. Please follow up and let us know how you make out with this.

That pickup could easily have backed in (likely requiring some maneuvering such as driving around the block and coming down the alley), and it would have substantially changed that visibility.
However, that is an ALLEY, which by definition should have low traffic, and requires a lot of attention.
Looking across the street, there is a building that abuts up to the alley, and likewise would obscure visibility.
