I seem to recall this bike was offered a number of years ago.
If I had silly money to spend, I would want the Hour Record bike that is on display at a Subway station in Belgium.

They want 50 grand, and post one blurry potato cell phone picture of the bike? I declare shenanigans!

You have to ask for more pics, but I agree a few more should accompany the listing.

I'd be up for buying now but can't pick it up because my Concorde is having its annual maintenance at the moment. ..Please pass the Grey Poupon.

I imagine the seller would take a serious offer way less than the 50K$ Just separating the wheat from the chaff. How else do you even put a number to something like that?

Looking at the Sean Yates build numbers, seat tube, top tube, the 20 is setback? 7.2 is my guess BB drop, rational?

Also, at one time The Merckx Co. Was undertaking an exploration into bike handling and stability, the effort to quantify the attributes of a well handling bicycle, with stated plans to publish the results, ever happen?

The seller says he had it authenticated by Ugo DeRosa. If a buyer, I would be very cautious and would like to see more, production records, notarized letters, etc. I would thing the temptation to counterfeit the bike and certificate would be high at that price.

Dear Santa,

I am writing you early to get a head start on next year. Can you please acquire this Eddy Merckx bicycle for me for Christmas next year. I promise to be very good and worthy of this gift. If for some reason this request is a tough get I would be more than happy to accept the Confente #1 that is mentioned on this forum instead as I am not an unreasonable man.

Seasons Greetings,
Ken
