1959 Schwinn Paramount frameset value?

1959 Schwinn Paramount frameset value?
The co-op where I volunteer has received a 1959 Schwinn Paramount frameset which I would like to pass on to a forum member to insure it gets treated properly. The co-op manager thinks that because it has Campagnolo dropouts & fork tips, it should be priced like the later frames with chrome.
The details: The frame has the usual small scrapes and paint chips, but no dents. Cracks or major scuffs/scratches. The chain stays have lots of small chips. Visually the frame looks straight. The only rust is minimal in the chips & scrapes. The headset looks like a quality unit, but is not labeled. Possibly an older Campagnolo model. All of the decals are gone and the head badge is badly weathered. Hope the pictures help the evaluation.

...the full chrome Paramounts are up in the $2.000 range on the Bay last time I checked. Not sure you're gonna get that kind of money for something that is cosmetically challenged, like that one. The age and the lugs are a selling point, but for a frame that needs painted, you're gonna need to sell it to a bike nerd, and they are notoriously cheap. Just my 2cents.
Are you certain there isn't chrome under that paint in spots ? I have a '73 that is painted a sort of flamboyant red, and the lugs, fork, stays, at least, are chromed. Market conditions for local sales are pretty grim, but Ebay might be a possibility, since it's a bare frame and easier to ship.

Hello again,
It’s my understanding that the chrome socks didn’t start until the early 60s with the chrome lugs a year or so later.
BTW, This is a 62cm CTC square frame.
A quick check of solid framesets on EBay & they’re all over the place depending on condition & vintage, $150-500.

...I'm sure you are correct. I did no research. If you are willing to go the Ebay route, that's probably your broadest appeal to market share. I have no idea what it's worth to someone on these forums. I probably overvalue stuff, anyway.

Being what it is, 531, Campy and Nervex, the bare frame should be in the 250 range.
But being a 59' it also "had" the distinction of being decaled with the Disney Font. Those have their own following.
A 59' of popular size, restorable should get $350 I'd think.

A nice item but will need the right customer. Repaint is gonna be over $200 to bring back or even sending back to Schwinn to get the decals right. It won't be cheap to bring back to it's full glory. Your co-op has in my past experience doesn't want to do much to maximize value. Remember the 62mm we sent back and forth? I would pass on this one just because of the size and cost of restoring. If the co-op can get $250 it will be a win for them. Smiles, MH

I’ve had reasonable success with 62cm/24inch & under. The problem is that 58cm is about the largest I can do a proper test ride on. Seems that our population is getting taller.

Tall bikes tend to sit around for a little longer, especially if the seat post is jammed down and stuck from a not-tall guy trying to ride it and then letting it sit in his garage for 20 years. But then after the bikes have sat around for a while, five tall guys in a row come by the shop and you don't have anything that will fit the last three of them.
Tall guys (who are not members of this forum) are not necessarily cheap. They can afford to be generous since being tall usually makes you rich and good-looking.
